If you haven't been reading my exploits about my time at Swift Driving Academy, I'll just say that Swift has bent me over and done you know what to me. I've been trained to have a CDL but no company will touch me now because of Swift. So, I'm being forced to do my training all over again at Mid-American Driving Academy in Louisa, KY, which will result in employment at CREngland, in another three weeks time, if my wife hasn't left me by then.

If anyone has some ancedotes about these two entities, I'd appreciate it because I'm about to sink another $2995 into this effort.

From what I've read here and on other trucking-related websites, C.R. England doesn't come very highly recommended. I would advise you to look into them (or any other company for that matter) further before you sign with them. BOL to you.

I agree. From what I have heard and seen these two companies are not to good. I would suggest search the archives if you haven't done so already.

Have you tried other companies like Roehl or TMC or one of the better reputable big companies. Roehl will send you out with a trainer for 3 weeks. I believe TMC does something of that nature as well. I dont know your whole story so I hope it helps. Did you get in an accident or something?

Good Luck

Since you live in the eastern half of the nation give Millis a try. They may be willing to take you on if you attend their school. It will cost you $500 down and a 1 year work agreement.

Run, don't walk away from CRE!

They try and sucker ignorant people into their "lease-purchase" scam.

It's the modern day version of sharecropping; you assume all the risk and they get the all the reward.

That being said one of the the line drivers at my terminal got his training from them. He lucked out and got a good trainer. He speaks highly of the training.

Sounds to me more like jumping out of a nice warm bed into a pit full of punji stakes and pit vipers.... :x :x Not my idea of a "good time", or a situation with good prospects. I think I would rather rip my fingernails out with rusty pliers......

Why the hell would somebody resurrect a thread that hasn't been posted to for over a year just to give a one word answer?

And you've driven how many miles for CR England to dispense your pearls of wisdom to newbies?

Quote: Go to a truck stop and ask a few England drivers, horses mouth.

That is the absolute WORST advice to give. Companies give recruiting bonuses to drivers to reel in new recruits.

No, I haven't driven for England, either. But I don't have to stick my hand into a rattlesnakes' nest to know it's gonna hurt. Anyone who signs up for that flea-bag outfit is a fool and deserves what's coming to him/her.

Wow did it get chilly in here or what? Dude if you don't want my pearls you can chuck them. Yeah that is the stupidest advise I have ever heard what was I thinking. You know those England guys that are poor and hungry and 3x felons at the truck stop are mind readers and know your name and if you gave a fake one. They have nothing else to eat on and can't wait to get some bystander to sign up for class and in 3 weeks or so get a bonus. Then they can but their smokes.

Ha Ha ha, whatever. You know what if you want to hear Bytching go to a truck stop they will stand in line to tell you their horror stories.

In my best Jack Nichalson vioce," You Cant Handle the Truth"

In 99% of the cases differences in opinions about a particular trucking company are just that, differences of opinions. England breaks the mold on that one. Its the one trucking company that I would say to someone considering them " If they are the only one that will take you find something else to do". Under NO circumstances would I recommend them to ANYBODY for ANY reason. I don't care if you were on the verge of starvation and they were waving a roast beef sandwich in your face DON'T DO IT
