A driver at the dock told me he has seen TMC vans near Dallas. Does TMC have a van division? Maybe a dedicated route?

TMC is a division within Annett Holdings, not sure right off, but Annett Holdings may have a van division or two. When Annett got PFT Roberson, wasn't Cheyenne Express (CX) part of Roberson? Isn't CX van?
No longer confused. Annett Holdings did get PFT Roverson, but CX Roberson was obtained by Celadon. BOL

Could this get anymore convuluted? You are right Celadon took over CX Roberson last year.

Indianapolis-based truckload conglomerate Celadon Group is buying the Champaign, IL-based truckload van division of CX Roberson, along with 370 tractors and 670 van trailers, for roughly $22.7 million. In addition, Celadon is offering employment to approximately 320 qualified drivers.

It's incredible how many mergers and variations go into making up these companies.... yes?

Perhaps it was a covered wagon? TMC does run limited covered wagons and their number is increasing.

Whenever I was sent through the TMC yard in Des Moines, IA for the weekend off. I would sometimes see a few covered wagons that had Chicago Metallic on the sides.
