| I prefer Cobra, but I guess that doesn't really help with your question. |

| Like yeti said,I like Cobra myself. Galaxy are good radios too,if you can afford them. Ive never been around Connex radios, but Ive always heard that they were good as well. My granddad had a Midland radio. As far as I can remember,he had pretty good luck with it. |

| I think this topic is a matter of perfence. Like I perfer either my Galaxy but I also like my Uniden PC66 (which they don't make anymore). Both I have peaked and tuned, and both I have a 150 watt linear hooked to them which I only use when I am trying to get info and I have to get over the kids with the noise makers in their truck. Which I would love to find the guy that came up with that idea and ring their neck, but that is a different thread. |

If you are not wanting to spend over 100 ona radio go to walmart and pick us a Uniden PC68XL and use it. Its small but does the job. If you can afford $150 stop at a CB shop and buy a Galaxy 949. Its a good starter radio. You just got to have a good price range to work with. If you want something to peak on and get to talking you need on with no weather band. Weather band will steal watts from your radios transimition and receiver. So good luck driver.
Happy holidays |

I'm running a 25 yr old Radio Shack and a single antenna and the thing works great. Personally I dont need all the bells and whistles and for the most part I never have the thing on anyway except at shippers who require it.
I got sick of all the dummies out there with their little noise makers, echo boxers and foul language a long time ago. |
