you are full of baloney my friend.
Shippers do not pay a premium to haul over the weekend.
Companies may pay a driver a premium but,
Pick up friday and deliver on Mon is regular price unless you are babysitting a reefer.
Be careful of your sources for advice on messageboards.
Shippers pay whatever you want to get their freight moved. I'm not here to brag on me. I know what I can do and have done, I just want O/O's and lease operators and small carriers to get the most out of there trucks and "most" means money. |

Lets say you are going to deliver in the financial district of NYC on a Sat or Sun. You will and should get a premium. But how many drivers do that?
If you pick up in Brooklyn on Fri. to deliver Madison Wisc on Mon you will get no premium. Sorry |

| well don`t settle for cheap loads and you`ll make it too  i`m nowhere near a veteran so if I can do it anyone can, I worked my way up to the minimum i`ll run for, at first it was 40 cents a mile so it took 1.20 a mile to get me there, then it was 1.50, now if I cant put a dollar a mile in my pocket i`ll stay home. |

Believe it or not there are lots more trucks in very small fleets and o/o's with 1-5 trucks...Quote from ooida.
If we ALL would hold out for that kinda pay, the big companies couldn't take up near enough of the slack and rates would go up quickly to where they should be!! |

Good job Brian, now tell the other O/O's here how they can make that kind of money. I'm not impressed because I've done way better than $2.32 per mile when fuel wasnt $2.98 per gallon and didnt have to run my truck #874 miles. I wont steal your thunder though. Good job!! |

You should get a premium for NYC anyway!!! Since you mention Madison WI. Here is a weekend load that moved like clockwork for almost two years, picked up on Fridays in Neenah, WI delivered Monday morning,in Pittsburgh, PA customer paid $5117, some dumba__ broker went in and cut that down to $750 to the truck and less than $1000 from the shipper. There delivery performance went to crap and none of the carriers hauling it before for $5000 wouldnt touch it any more. |

Load It, there are two things in this world that one cannot over come... one is poverty and the other is ignorance. I don't believe poverty is the case here.
