OK, so
1) Does knight have all volvos or do they also have some freightklunkers?
2) could you explain the non-forced dispatch thing?
Does this mean that if there are, say, 3 loads available you can turn down two of them, but you have to take one of them?
Or does it mean you can just turn all runs down until you hear something you like? |

Knight runs Volvo's and Pete's. They no longer are buying new F/L. They still have some in service tho', just haven't sold them yet.
Their non-force dispatch is what it sounds like. If you don't like it, don't haul it. But Don't expect to any favors from your DM if you do. I saved my," Sorry not going there, can I have a different one plz" for King sooper in denver, and any other place I absolutly hated or knew was going to be a bad load. But If My DM came through with another load, I made sure to treat him well. I didn't refuse too many loads in the year and a half I was with them. It's a nice system just don't abuse it or word will spread that you're a whiner and you'll never have anyone go to bat for you. |

i don't like volvo, but the pete's have me salivating; this is a good thing!
So does this mean i could consecutively turn down loads until i found one i liked? 10 in a row? Theoretically 100 in a row?
This seems strange?
I'm generally not the type that would turn down a load (unless i knew another driver would soon take it). My view is that it is all money and occasionaly you get a crap load. |

You can turn down as many as you want, but don't expect to have a job if it becomes a habit. If you're really picky about your runs then a company with dedicated opportunity's might suit you best. Most of the time with the crappy runs, unless it was king sooper, I would go ahead and run it because I knew I would be taken care of and that it would give me more leverage to get better runs in the future.
Knight says they don't have dedicated runs, they don't. But what they do have *wink*wink* is customers that haul in one specific direction all the time. I had one of these runs that went from LA to leverage twice a week with weekends off and I grossed $918.385 every week, even during winter months. I only left knight to do LT. But I still think about that run and my Volvo all the time. It ran very well and could turn on a dime, which was good cuz' I was in LA so much. Anyway I've babbled enuff'.
Enjoy your Monday!

Hey Chris,
What was so bad about King Soopers? I have been delivering produce there for a while now and it was always fine. 4AM appt. but in and out very quick. |

| I have come to a realization that running grocery or dry van or reefer has its deeply imbedded  flaws  where it is almost impossible to get the truth :?: . It reminds me of the car business where they do all they can get away with and everything is a big joke on you while they take all the money. You can stay and fight and get ahead that way or look for a place with a better management group where you have less flaws to cull through. Remember this you get what you deserve and what you deserve is up to you use time to gain  knowledge  use it to get what you want. :) |
