| Anyone with any info. about driving teams with arrow? Avg. miles and pay with drivers with 3yrs and 1yr otr exp. What kind of income would we get? My brother and I are interested in skateboarding, we are used to hard work (pushing a handtruck, delivering groc. in rain, snow and heat) so we are not worried about the hard work involved in flatbedding, any info would be great. We are limited to Arrow because I'm only 21 and it's the only decent flatbed company that would hire us as a team. |

Arrow is a good company to drive for. I'm not sure about the team side of it as I'm a solo driver, but the miles on the solo side have been good.
As with most companies there are short runs to get you back into a freight lane but for the most part the miles are there to run.
Anymore questions feel free to PM me.

I'd call recruting and ask them your questions. Ask for Cindy, she was very helpful when I hired on.

arrow doesn't like to do teams much if you're not husband/wife (same household kind of thing) unfortunately. they may, but they may not. it's hard to pay the bills for 2 separate households.
(i work @ arrow but i'm not a recruiter) |

| I am heading to Arrow's orientation on Tues. 09Sept06. can anyone tell me what I can expect? This is my first OTR company so I do not know what to expect. I can say that out of all the companies I talked to Arrow (Linda) has always been very nice to me. Any help and advice would be great!!! Take it easy!! |

Rayisay. good to see another driver coming in. There is a post in this forum titled: Arrow Trucking-Inside orientation. You should check it out.
I can tell you that it runs from Monday to Friday, with Friday being the the day you get assigned your trainer if you don't have experience or you get your truck and load if you have experience. They really stress safety as far as loads, mirrors, and overall awareness of your surroundings. If you have any other questions feel free to shoot me a pm and ask away. I'll try to get on as often as I can but I'm on a load to TX right now.BOL :D

Arrow, while a great company from the time I have been with them is NOT a company to come to if you want to team drive.
For instance, I had a team that came into Arrow the same time I did - went lease purchase the same time I did, and when they talked to their Business Manager the first time.... quit. Right now we're not turning enough miles to support a team from two different households. Solo drivers make it well, solo lease operators do well, teams starve each other to death here. If you want to team, may I suggest a van expedited freight carrier? |

sbphilli- how many miles on average per week do you run? are these miles consistant year around? How is your home time?
what exactly is involved in pulling a flatbed that is not involved in pulling a van trailer?
thanks |

| arrow's pay tops out at 38cpm - that's for 5+ yrs experience. i think we do hire out of NH but it may depend on which part of the state you're from (don't quote me on that though). you might want to give one of our recruiters a call - the recruiting# is 888-277-6937. |

| Was offered a southeastern regional position with Arrow, just this morning. Am thinking about it. Haven't pulled a flatbed since 1999. |

| I'm assuming from your location that you're talking about the Super Southeast Regional... haven't had the chance to really talk to anyone on that regional board, but I'd imagine it would be a good one to run. Wider area than the three Texas regionals or Tulsa regional. |
