I was listening to Ron & Fez on XM. They had a pretty good bit going on who the "Franchise players" were.
example:
Michael Jordan-Chicago Bulls
Jim Brown-Cleveland Browns
Can you name any? made for a good discussion on the radio..... |

| Peyton Manning......without him the Colts would be lucky to beat some college teams. |

Manning is a good one, I think of Johnny Unitas though..... just an opinion. But yeah Manning would be the current franchise player.

| well, the way its lookin franchise players are going the way of the birds, just look at Steve McNair, Eddie George to name a few. They play 10-15 yrs with a team and as soon as these "franchise" players start to show their age, theyre gone. Cant blame GMs or owners tho. Its better to lower that salary to meet the cap that keep a has been on the books. Its just a shame that the salary cap is going to take "franchise player" out of our kids vocabulary |
