Classroom all day that covered the following topics....................

General Knowledge

Air Brakes

HAZMAT

We reviewed films and took tests all day 700am-500pm.........

Day 3 Tomorrow we cover

Log Books

Pre-trip

Doubles and Triples

Sat and Sun we review all of the above and test for our permits
on Mon...............................

Lost another student today for who knows what ??????

See yall tomorrow.......................

Well folks..................
We finished Day 3 and The Instructor has eased up a bit and his friendlier.
We lost 4 students today for The following...........

1 Background Check with negative results.
2 Medical Reasons
3 Medical Reasons
4 Burned a cup

Tomorrow we start Day 4 And cover log books ALL DAY !!!

Sunday we review EVERYTHING.

WEEK 2

Mon All day at DPS

Tues Start to DRIVE on the PAD YEAHHHHH..........

Everyone have a safe weekend !!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hey Headed4home

Glad to hear things are going good for ya...I am also starting a new career at 48..I am a welder/ fabricator and have worked in the factory sweet shops as well as ran my own business for awhile...am ready for something new and have always wanted to drive trucks...so I am givin it a try. I had heard so much bad stuff about Swift I was wondering if I had made the right choice, but Lately I have heard some positive ,so I have made my mind up and going with Swift. Wish you the best of luck and keep you wheels turnin.

Well guys and gals,Finished day 4 and looking at 5 Tomorrow.
Tomorrow will be a review day and well review everything well
see on our test on Mon ...............................
I think everyone is alittle nervous !!! But The folks that are studying will make it.I know Ive studied alittle every evening so I wont have to cram on Sun eve............................
My fellow class mates are really roughing it at the Days Inn.........
Conditions are pretty bad.........................It seems the hotel makes you turn off A/C during the day and the SWIFT folks do Room checks while were at school.This is to insure compliance of the NO ALCOHOL policy.
Drink before you get here.........................

See everyone later !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Just finished day 5 and all we did was REVIEW REVIEW REVIEW
Test at DPS Tomorrow Morning for Class A CDL Permit............
Wish us luck as weve been studying !!!!!
Test results tomorrow,Provided we pass well be on the PAD on Tues for a week.........................

Keep Em Turnin guys and gals !!!!!!!!

First week was fun but I wouldnt have wanted to REPEAT...................
PASSED my last two tests today !!!!!!!!!!!!!

With that said Ive moved on to phase two and started driving today...
Well almost (LOL)
Backed up Backed up and did I say Backed up and rolled forward .....

IT WAS FUN !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Today we do backing and we get our permits since DPS was down yesterday.

OK Ive had a few PM'S asking what size my class was so here goes
Ill try and explain !!!!!!!!!
Our class started out with 42 (LOL) which I thought was too many,In talking with an Instructor he said just wait a few days and youll see your graduating class............A few days after we started we gained another
7 students from a class that was ahead of us,So now were at what 49 or so..............................Well out of that 49 we have only 28 remaining....

We lost a few to DOT drug tests.
Background checks.
Tardiness.
Failure to comply.
Cheating on tests at DPS.
And lastly Academic probation.

We anticipate possibly losing a couple more to Academics because we have a group of 7 that are from Puerto Rico and hevent taken or passed a single test because the computors at DPS are down.And ALL out of State/Country students have to get processed IN before they can take a test.................With that said we may lose 1 or 2 more.........................

Today we straight backed ALL day,Man,Was it Hot on the PAD.

The instructors are 1st class !!! If you have a question,Just ask.........
They are real good about feedback and what we can expect when we leave in two weeks.............................
Didnt think we are that close to graduating untill wife came home with a
FEW things she knew Id need.Toilet articles,New Drawers (LOL) TMI
Sorry JK !!!!!!!!!!
Any way,Were close and I know Ill miss my family once underway !!!!
Ill miss Football Season (My oldest plays) And Ill miss watching them PLAY Baseball.Our family is a Baseball Family and I know it will be hard
But this was a family decision and were ready.

Any way to all NEW PROSPECTS,plan ahead and be READY.
Stay focussed and keep a positive attidute.Week 2 is easier.

Stay tuned !!!!!!!!!!!!!

WE DID GET TOLD WE GET 2 1/2 DAYS OFF ON MON AND TUES ????
