Did the "Fozzy step into my office" thread get out of hand?

I personaly don't think it did, it was just an argument, I did not realy see any name callin. It was productive and thought provoking.

What do y'all think!!

Do you think it would have gotten out of hand?

I have seen a whole lote worse on this site, this thread was mild.

Careful. We've taken some flack for letting these religious discussions go on extensively. I am of the belief that this is a messageboard and we do have an area to discuss anything and everything. So, if someone doesn't want to read something, they can skip right over it. However, it wouldn't take much to find ourselves with the directive to shut them all down. So accept the board decision on certain threads and keep the open ones as civil as possible.

Careful, Why? Am I going to step on someone's toes!

So Anything and Everything, includes Anything and Everything, but Religious Topics?

I agree, so what is the problem?

I understand the board has this ability, this is not the issue, the issue was the opinions of the user's. Which in all actuality, means nothing I was just curiouse, as to what the opinion was.

Concerning religious thread!

I find it funny, how some people can say that there upset over a beliefe.
So why didn't anyone get upset at the Bigfoot thread, its a belief?
http://www.classadrivers.com/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=17812&highlight=

Or Fozzy's "Christian Nationalizm Explained" Thread,?
http://www.classadrivers.com/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=17225&highlight=

or " Attack of the Skanky Hoe" that in itself sound appaling
http://www.classadrivers.com/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=3092&highlight=

"Discussion of the BigBang" Did anyone grip about this one?
http://www.classadrivers.com/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=15126&highlight=

I don't seem to understand, How a thread of religious content, can make anyone angry, Like you said they don't have to read it. The thread in question had some religious nature to it. But it was not the subject at hand.

I accept the boards disission, and have realy no beef with it. What I do have a beef with, is the people or person, who complains of it. THEN DON"T READ IT.

Kinda like the Christians, trying to take certain thing off TV, My solution, DON"T WATCH IT!
Some of us, on this board like these discussions, that is a fact, if not then I would be speaking to myself.

So whoever grips at this, my question is. The things and topics that you post on. Should they be shut down because I don't agree with them!
The Answer is NO, if I don't agree or they are offending to me, I DON"T READ THEM!

Maybe I am just rambling, but I believe that the thread in question was going some where, other than a lock down. It was a good discussion, and argument at times. but it was within reson. I have seen so many thread's in which even the moderators have taken part in, that have practicaly been shouting matches, and have not been shut down. Then I have seen some, that probably needed shut down, for the fact of name calling alone.

Oh well, thats life!

On with the show!!

Sorry Twilight Flyer, I meant no disrespect, I know it was in your judgment, and you judged. That I honor, even if I don't agree! Who knows, you have been doing this a long time, I guess experience you based your disission on. It could have gotten worse, it could have gotten better, it could have stayed the same.

BLah Blah Blah Slimland is rambling, of nothing into the air.  8)

If you think you just must post these no win arguments then why not got to Craigslist and post in the rants and raves section?

The way I see it nothing gets solved by posting here except by those who need their daily argument fix.

Fozzy's attacks tend to become increasingly personal, venomous, and vitriolic as his arguments run out of steam, which seldom takes very long to happen!!

HAD it gotten out of hand??, I'd say "no", but I think that it quickly would have!!

As I tried to suggest politely...(in that thread)...it looked like baiting him in for a beating. It was mean, and came across like a set up, to be him against everyone who cared to join the fight. Not good form (forum) gentlemen.

You are correct! I am Sorry Fozzy, I shouldn't have steped to the level given me. I guess, that the temptation was to great!

Even though I could answer more roughly, I realize I shouldn't, so my apologize are extended!

Slimland: No offense, but you misread TF's reply. He meant that we DO have a section for "Anything and Everything" (although it says Trucking Related. And therefore, they allow your/our religious discussions THERE. But, he says, it wouldn't take too much complaining to have to shut it down - especially as Religion is NOT Trucking related.

There IS NO separate forum for religious discussions. So, accept (as you did) his admonishment and move on. And, before challenging him or anyone else, be SURE you have read and UNDERSTOOD that person's post.

There is more to English than "diagramming" sentences. There is also English Comprehension. Not trying to rag on you, just helping you understand what you seemed NOT to.

Peace, brother.

I take no Offense-- I did take all that into consideration when I posted back in June. As for Religion being Trucking related, maybe your right, but I believ that a Trucker see's and hears more religious content than the average person. I know I did when I was otr, that and politics where usualy the conversations, most truckers talked of.

That all being said, what made you bring this one up again-bored? 8)

Bored? Mabye. Seems a little slow this holiday weekend.

Mostly curiosity. I was trying to find out what thread you let get out of hand!

Guess I'm getting a little stir crazy. Been home since Thursday! Leaving out in the morning for Portland, OR. Yay!!! Eastern Oregon and the Gorge is one of my favorite places.

Now.... don't get too far ahead of me while I'm gone!

If I remember right the Thread in question was OTR's and I think it was called "Fozzy step into my office" which in itself was funny!
