Futuretrucker, I didn't ask the details, as I would have felt a bit more guilty about the transaction. I don't think you're way off, we just aren't on the same wavelength, which is ok.

The reason people don't post their opinions is they've seen what a "field day" a few members here have had on me, and would rather steer clear of it. Its seems sides get taken, and childish drama happens. Not accsuing you, Ryan, you've made your point clearly and never crossed the line in referenece to me, but others have tried to bait me into pissing matches, and I'm ashamed at times I've bought into it.

The reason I posted this was to see if others have come across deals like this, and it took a couple pages before somebody mentioned cb's and stuff being sold, which was the point of this thread.

Buying stuff at a garage sale is synonymous with what happened in my case...buying goods at discounted rate because someone needed money, at least thats how I see it.

I didn't start this thread to see if I was right or wrong, just curious if this has happened to anyone else. I know for fact 1 member here has openly admitted it to me.

Its OverTheRoad, FutureTrucker is a different guy. :)

With that being said..... We have both made our points and it is ok to differ on opinions. Its all good. No hard feelings. Have a good and safe one. Ryan

I've contacted my dispatcher and he assured me where I buy my fuel is my business, even if its out of someones tanks and not stolen. The fact of the matter is, I watched the fuel being pumped after being legitamitely paid for and "thats all I have to say aboouuut thaaaaat" (Forrest Gump).

I'm waiting for a response to my post a while back that would it be stealing if I, myself, was selling fuel off my comdata card for $1/gal...which is deducted from my settlements :?

My bad OverTheRoad, its getting late and I made a typo, glad you knew who I meant though

Moving furniture from a 2nd floor apt on a military base is 93 degree weather and crazy humidity does wonders! And putting down 350 miles on top of that :)

Oh heck, let solve this part you got a good enough look at it to see it had a sleeper or did they point out suppose truck?

What was the name on the truck? Come kid, it might have been 1 am but you know it had a sleeper.

First quit calling me "Kid", or I shall have no choice but to call you something in reference to your age  I can vote, drink, and all that good stuff, but I can't rent a car (yet)
I was able to rent a car..they sold me a $50 insurance rider... Avis. It took the manager though.
Second, he said he had a sleeper, although I never saw his truck. I was inside the flying J and HE approached me with the offer. Not once did I see his vehicle, and forgot the name of his company, which was a small one.

Let me ask everyone this- If I (Bandit) sold fuel on my comdata card because I didn't have cash to pull off of it at a VERY discounted rate, would that be stealing? I pay for my fuel, and what I do with it is my business, short of dumping into the ground and hurting the environment.
No it would not be stealing, its your fuel, its your money, do with it what you want.Several PM's telling me "they" would do it reassure me its a mix of feelings on the subject. They won't post here cuz they're afraid you guys will jump on them like some have on me
Does that not tell you something Bandit. If they are to afraid to post here and let everyone know their opinion then maybe they know they are wrong. Might be something to consider...

OK Bandit, follow me...........

A driver comes up to you at a truck stop and tells you he has 50 gallons of fuel to give you for $50. Correct?
You go out and take him up on his deal, correct?
You don't know if he is a company driver or an o/o like yourself, correct?
Now hear me out... If he is a company driver then who owns the fuel? If he just used his Comdata card to swipe for fuel and put it in your tanks and took $50 from you then that is STEALING. Both you and him are guilty. Correct?
Now if he pays his own fuel, well then he is a moron and will soon be broke, correct?
It might hurt the ego to admit you where wrong but I tell you what, if you want a little respect in life you gotta own up to your mistakes. Everyone makes them. I'm not perfect, I admit it. I have screwed up, badly at times., and when it is brought to my attention it is hard to swallow but you have to do it.
If I am way off base please tell me. Take care, Ryan

I answered that question already....

Okay, well sorry but you are one. Can't rent a car! Well I can call you variety of other things....how about "newbie" you didn't seem to like that one either BC.

Since you didn't see if he really had a truck or not .... correct? Then let's but a whole new twist on this ..... what if the comdata card was stolen.

Nobody thought about that did they?

Hey now, I'm not his father. My counseling services do not come cheap either.

I think you people need to lighten up on BC a little bit though, he started a contest that he needs to concentrate on being able to win..too much badgering might make him lose his focus

Bush Bunny, just don't call me ANY names, how about that? I've yet to call you anything but your screenname, and I'd like the same respect, but thats too hard to ask, I guess.

If the card was stolen, then how would he have the identification #'s, and do it on camera? I'd be more than happy to identify him in a lineup if it came down to it.

Talk about newbie, they don't even take Comdata at Flying J

Wouldn't want to. I own a brand new GMC Envoy and a 93 GMC Typhoon that runs 11.80's in the 1/4 mile 8)

We pay cash .... called a debit card and since fueling is no longer one of my jobs on our truck I don't worry about it.

Guess you never heard GMAN refer to us as "Rich International Indepentent Owner/Operatore", huh?

And he started this thread too. Guess he should have kept his mouth shut and concentrated on his contest, huh?

Me thinks losing his focus on the contest would be helpful to the two left.
