Hello my friends. I'm really frustrated because I tried to apply for w/s but the lady just lleft me a message telling me that she called my school and I don't have enough hours behind the wheel. I can't understand how that can be possible. When I was in the school I met a bunch of company recruiters and no body told us that we will need a specific amount of hours driving before I could apply to some job.I'm sure all the schools have to adhere to certain standars in order to offer programs that qualify students to effectively be part of the trucking industry. That 's what I think.

My school was P.I.A in pittsburgh PA, for reference

80.00 hours (classroom)
80.00 hours (road)

Does anyone know anything about these requirements?

thanks for your help

NERO.

Nero are you for real?? after reading your post I have to ask myself as a fellow Hispanic male that you truly are embarrassing your race. If you truly want to be taken seriously then try spell check and get some credibility to your post.

A lot of companies will accept you after a 160 hour course. There are only a few that require a 200 hour course.

There are a lot of companies and you might have to go with any company that will hire you for the first year or so. Good luck.

Insurance tells companies who they can hire and who they cannot. They tell the company what a new driver has to have for classroom experience or if they will allow drivers with under a year of experience with OTR.

In his Aug. 22nd post he said, and I quote, "I toke the TMC choice". He now drives a petterbille 387 and that he is enjoining his job.

No, his English and diction are not the best....but even still, his lack of perfect articulation of the language is hardly a valid reason to harass him. I know alot of WASP's whose handling of the English language is pathetic. Lighten up!

Instead of attacking a poster for their minor mistakes in language, and diction....give the man credit for having the stones to get the training and doing the job.

I wonder how many of you can speak Spanish as well as he speaks English? Lets not allow this bigotry to go any farther.

Skywalker, I was not making fun of this man. I haven't figured out how to quote what anybody else says in their post so I used common sense and used the phrase "and I quote". And who the he!! are you calling a bigot? You can't possibly be refering to me, because you don't know me. Now that you know the facts, Would you like to appologize?
