| Personally, I liked the whole "Test" post thingy. Pretty slick way to get around the mods, who usually don't check posts like that. But I'll leave this one open so we can monitor the results of the poll. Important stuff like that should not be ignored. ;) |

sounds like the phpbb hackers have found an automated way around the
sign up process. wonder if phpbb 3.0 (development tree now frozen) will
address these issues? |

my apologies, wot...
it's called geek speak. this bulletin board runs on open source software.
this board uses version 2.x, which has some known issues that some hackers
are exploiting. version 3.0 is in development, and it's being readied for
beta testing. in order for the beta test to go correctly, the ideas for making
version 3.0 better have to be settled on ('frozen on the development tree')
before a final test version is released. beta testing then begins, where the
odd bug or two is fixed, and then the 'final' release is done.
the changes from version 2.x to 3.0 must be significant. a 'point' release
usually indicates major coding changes or improvements from the developer.
sometimes they fix things that get messed up by others, like our quote
feature, for example. |
