Well i was rolling down M35 in yooper land this past week with a load of lumber i stopped at a stop sign before making a right hand turn and noticed a DOT cop in my mirror. Well I was having one of those days and I said piss on it and took my sweet old time going up through the gears. Well i got the truck up to problebly 8 gear in about a mile or so and I looked in my drivers side mirror and here comes smokey bear passing me in a no passing zone im guessing 70 mph. I thought for sure with the stunt i pulled leaving the stop sign they were going to pull out the portables and make me run across them.

Actually, he may have been in a hurry to get somewhere. Any other time, he might have been a little curious as to why you were being so careful... Sort of like a drunk that believes he's doing everything extra careful so as not to get stopped and checked. My oldest son got stopped once, because he was doing "JUST UNDER THE SPEED LIMIT" rather than keeping up with the flow of traffic.

But, then... M-35, along the lakeshore... "I was in no hurry... So, I was doing a little sight-seeing..."

i don't think cops should be able to get away with doing that.

NJ had an interesting law on the books years ago. Wonder if it's still there?

If you see a cop speeding, and he's not on an emergency, you can pull him over and write him a ticket with his own ticket book. The catch... You are not allowed to break the law to do this. So.... If he's speeding, how do you catch up to him and pull him over without breaking the law????

Oh, yeah... You also have to appear in court as his accuser  and show how you were able to determine that he was speeding

well you should have told me you were coming through.
I think I know the Little ..... that might have pulled you over-Was he short and looked like a wannabe gung ho Marine?
If so I know who he is but then again when he went by you in a huff you probably couldn't see him.
Where did you get the Lumber? Little Lake?
PS-If it was who I think it was I would have done the same thing-INTENTIONALLY :D

Actually there is a new product to help us determine how fast the Supertroopers are running. For 20 bucks go to Wal-Mart and get yourself an actual working Radar gun and I am not lying on this one made for hot wheels has a switch to measure their cars or full size cars get the troopers car number call up his station ask to speak to the charge officer and say I clocked your officer in car 54 doing 80 in a 65 zone and would like to file charges.

about 30 years I got ticket in Atlanta (in a 4 wheeler) for going 45 in a 55 zone. i explained that my car was overheating and I was trying to get over in the emergency lane but he gave me a ticket anway. I lived in Florida at the time, I never paid it and never heard anything about it.

Fredog, it may come back to bite you eventually. I remember reading a story not that long ago of a guy who got a ticket and simply forgot to pay the fine because he moved out of state right after it happened or something like that. After about 60 years the locale caught up to him and had him pay it still. It had gone from like a $10 fine to $400.

I have no problem calling on cops. I called on 2 from the same locale that were outside of their jurisdiction by 25 miles driving rather insane. Talked with the police chief face to face and he straightened it out. They never drove like that again outside of their jurisdiction. One passed me on a blind hill in a no passing zone. Had another that the locale simply ignored me, gave me the cold shoulder. Guy was heading away from his locale about 15 miles outside of it and blew my doors off like I was tied to a tree, then cut off 2 cars without even 1 blink of a turn signal before blasting thru a 45 zone still doing at least 70 mph. Wife called on a state boy who was sitting in the middle lane of a 3 lane interstate with no flashing lights on writing in his book. His dispatch was seriously pissed at him for being a moron.

Yeah Fredog, gotta be careful on that. I got a ticket in my 4 wheeler years ago and when I tried to pay it, they couldn't find a record of it. About 3 years later I found out my license had been suspended because of an unpaid speeding ticket. Seems the officer wrote my last name wrong and they could find anything in the database under my actual last name.

I hear that Fredog. Dad knew a few drivers from way back who had several different state license's. They would get stopped for something crazy and the officer would take their license on the spot. Not a problem, they still had 2 others sitting in the other seat from completely different states and would go on down the road. States didn't have good communication with one another back in those days it seems. With today's computer systems all linked up, ain't gonna pull that stuff anymore.
