I just got back a week ago from this school in Indy. I must say i had a pretty good experience with them. They "pre-hire" although if you got anything lurking in your background expect to get dropped by one of the carriers they supply but they are great with hooking you up with anotherone in that case..
The carriers they supply are Star, USA,P.A.M., and Decker.
If you pass everything through the class only last 2 weeks and 2 days TOTAL, and with weekends off.
But i will say you have to do your part.. as far as study.. as anyone know's it's hard to teach anything in 2 and a half weeks.. but they have great instructors and put you right into buisness.
Thier recruiting company is Drivers Solutions. |

Hi Diztant!
Had a question for you. Of the companies that school you went to services, which ones are okay with bringing pets along?
I live in northern Indiana and I'm seriously thinking about going to trucking school. There are a couple in the city I live in, but I want to get decent training and I appreciate your comments about C1 in Indy. |

I'm at C1 right NOW.... Just finished week one (all in class) and it was hard for most of the guys becuase of the amount of class time (we let out at Midnight on Friday)... But at the same time, our classroom instructor (Jerry) is VERY VERY thurough.... You can pass the in-class test just from what he lectures if you pay attention and take a ton of notes... But I gotta warn ya, READ YOUR CDL MANUAL!!!! The test you take at the BMV will be worded a lot different from the classroom test....
I'm learning a lot in the school and can't wait for next week when I start my driving excersises....
I'll be back to keep ya updated...
P.S. The C1 I'm at is in Ft. Wayne, IN if that is closer to you....

Hi Chip,
Yes, a friend and I checked out C1 in Fort Wayne...I wasn't very impressed as it seemed like it was hard to find and they only work with four companies.
I'm glad you have a good instructor though.
I am considering going to another school, as the one I attended wasn't very good and I just flunked my Indiana CDL for the fourth time yesterday.
My school wouldn't let me practice this week (they are permanently short-staffed and short trucked) and also said they couldn't bring their truck to the testing site even though I was testing the very same day at 9:30 a.m. and their guy was testing at 11 a.m. I was furious when I was 3/4 the way through my pretrip (which I passed) and saw the school's truck pull up in the lot.
Good luck in trucking! |
