What speed is your company truck ogverned at? Also What company do you work for? I get pasted up SO much on the road, its sad, and lonely at the back of the pack. Anyone else out there as slow as me?

| My truck is not governed. But like Mad Dog, I own my own truck. There are some companies who govern their trucks at 72 mph. If you want to get a true picture of what companies are governed you should expand your poll to include everyone. 8) |

| The company trucks at Marten are set at 65. The Columbia I got consistently runs 66 with spurts up to 67. It used to go only about 63-64 but when it had it's first service they straightened it out for me. One thing that bugs me though is that after going down a hill faster than the governed speed the engine won't "kick" back in until it gets down to 63 then I also have to wait for the turbo's to get going again (C15 CAT). I don't mind running 65 that much but it sucks not being able to get around someone that's being a pain in the a$$, driving erratic or non consistent speed. I've slowed way down to get away from these people but I always manage to catch back up with them. The only solution is to stop and take a short break but then I just lose more time. :D :D |

start a new poll.
include as choices:
70-75 mph
hurricane force
whatever the rev limiter cuts in at
whatever blows up the motor
does using neutral on a 8% downgrade count?
jet propelled, what speed limit? |

First thing i did, on my trucks, i took all the restriction off!
My truck, could only have one governer, and that would be me! :D
BTW, I rarely run over 70 mph, most of the time less, but if i need it for whatever reasons, i want it all here!
But, tho i agree with Yoopr, that for expirienced, responsible drivers, governed trucks is a safety hasard, sometimes, you have to choose lesser of two evils!
I wouldn't want to see, all this rookies(no offence, everybody was once), flying around, in ungoverned trucks! :D |

| i guess owning your own rig has its plus's especially if you want to burn past the posted speed limits. if it doesnt affect the bottom line moneywise, go for it. on the other hand, being a company driver we have to put up with 65, 67, 69 or less, mostly less, i am a company driver, that means i play by their rules, and run it the way they want it ran, 65mph, i will still get there as fast and make my money. and it will be legal too. |

It has nothing to do, with running fast(at least in my case)!
It has everything to do, with having more options!
Accelerator, is as valuable driving tool, probably even more valuable, than brakes!
You wouldn't want to drive a truck with restricted brakes? Would you? |
