| when I'm not building Petes , I'm into my other passion: hot cars! I have a 2001 Trans Am , an '89 Camaro RS with a LS1 and a six speed tranny , and my "mini rig" : a '95 Chev Silverado dually. When you're not on the road , do you have a toy of your own waiting in the garage? Just curious about this. |

Here's some pics of my toys:
The convertible is in the process of having a '99 LS1 5.7 V8 and a T56 six speed manual transmission swapped into it. I have spent enough on it to have bought the Trans Am and had some change left over. The LS1 is not stock , either. |

| I don't have one, but if I could have my dream car, it would be a 1968 Camaro. I love those cars! The 69's are great too, but I like the body style of the 67 & 69 a little better. As I understand it, the 69 has better handling, suspension, etc. I had a boss that I worked for that had a 68 that he put a newer 350 engine in. It was the royal blue with the white stripes, that thing was beautiful! Talk about not having your dream, right now I drive a '99 Saturn. It does get about 40 mpg on the highway though. :D |

| I dont have one, but if I did it would be a 1968 Dodge Charger with the 440 sixpack. It has been my favorit car since I was a kid. Maybe the Dukes of Hazard had somthing to do with that!! |

I have had my share in my younger days. My favorite I had was a 1966 GTO. But for a dream car it would be a tossup.
1970 Hemi Cuda
Or a 1970 Dodge Daytona

| Yea that is how they first came out was for racinng at talladega. And according to the rules they also have to be a production car. So they made a limited amount for the public. But your correct nothing could beat them at the time. Specially if they had the 426 in them which the racing ones did. |

Didn't the Taladaga Fords have the 428 cobra jets or am I mistaken in this?
There pretty nice cars to seem a little heavey on the front though, not as well balanced as the Charger. |

First car I ever owned was a 1956 Pink Cadilac. Payed $50 for it in the bar, drove it for three months befoe it calved on the side of the road, hitch hicked away from it.
Dream car?
1969 ZL-1 Camero.
For those that do not know, ZL-1 was the big block aluminum engine.
They where built for Super Stock NHRA racing. Super Stock A as a matter of fact.
Of course, the blocks where weak so they pretty much where all blown up and replaced with the iron block L-88's. I dont know how many where built.
There is only one numbers matching ZL-1 Camero left in the world.
There are two 1969 ZL-1 Corvetts. Only two where built and both are in private collections.
I am pretty sure this info is correct, if you have other info let me know. |
