They call me Funk Humor. I'm one of many smart as*' out there on the road... I started off as Fu*k Humor but some old Drivers took me aside on the CB one day and talked me into something a little more creative (not much i know). Though it all sounds the same when you get down south on I-10 across those swamps... Thank God for Air Ride and screw on lids.

Ran with a guy across Utah, Idaho, and Oregon on the way home to Portland. I had been too busy to get a haircut recently so I had these huge sideburns.... guess what he decided to call me?

    Elvis...

Didn't really keep that name but kind of a funny story.

    Mobil Maniac........by accident.

Back in the 70's I carried my snow ski's with me and skied when ever I could. My handle was Mogul Maniac. Moguls being the bumbs on a slope. I like taking them hard and fast. (I didnt drive that way)
Mogul sounds like Mobil on the CB..........I got tired of explaining so I just kept Mobil Maniac.......crazy about driving.
Never happier than when I have a steering wheel or handle bars in my hands.

... this is GREAT :!: ... to see drivers and new drivers adding their Handle .... all this helps to make our time on the road just a bit more enjoyable because we're getting to know who our family members are ....

hey CAD ... how about hats or pins, ... so to make it easier to pick out each other when we're walking into a truck stop .... ... I know~I'm different  .... maybe that's just the mom and grandma in me .... 8)

I hope more drivers add their Handle's .... so we can keep this going :!:

Keep Safe and Hope to See YOU Soon :!: :!:

    hello 4roses

my name is jason i havent been on this site long but i have to say im glad i found it. im starting drivin school monday may 9 with cr england. i havent really thought hard about a handle but since reading this post ive decided my handle will be jake as it is here. my grandma has been callin me that since i was a squrt. it will be awhile before i start out on my own solo. i do want everyone on this site to know i'm from the country an you here all kind of bad things about the rest of the country. livin here where i do we dont have much crimes or have to worry about being killed as you here about in the big city so naturaly i was alittle scared. but everyone here on this site seems to be one big family and looks out for each other. my point is that you all have made me realize that there are alot of good people left out there so thank you. i hope i have the chance to meet all of you in the future. when i get my own truck i'll be sure to let you know.
so until them drive safe and be careful i'll see ya on the flip
    p.s. i'll buy the coffee

    Thanks you Lady_hpm.
I am actually going to be stopping by the school tomorrow to have a chat on what course would be best for me to take.
But I am not going to make this decision too quick, because things are really up in the air with my current job(Computer techy)
I may have a chance to hang on through the summer. And if I can do that, then I can keep making what I make now for a little longer and save as much as I can before I take the starting salary of a new job/career.

Hello again Lady_hpm. I see that you will be taking your road test in about three weeks. Well; I can say that should be more than enough time to brush up on your shifting skills. It took me a little while when I was in school too. Double clutching was interesting for me. I had some goofy times trying to get it down packed in the 6-speed, but before I knew it...It just came to me with practice. They also had a 10-speed and a 9-speed at the school. With the 10-speed, floating through the gears was fun and I picked that up quicker just because I liked it more.

But anyway; I am sure you will do just fine...Keep smiling and absorb all you can in school.

Bye the way, I spoke with the owner at Star Trucking School this morning.
    http://www.startruckdrivingschool.com/
He(the owner) suggested taking a 40 HR refresher course. But I may even take it a step further and go for a 160 HR course. I know that is probably over kill, but you know what? I never heard of having too much practice or learning too much.

All in all; only time will tell when I will start up with school again. I just got word from my boss today that the computer lab that I supervise will be the last thing to close. So; I am pretty confident that I may get through this entire summer without having to make a job change.

Well, aren't I a bit slow on the response? LOL :P

Yes, I took up with Freight Star. If you happen to be running East Coast, or upper Midwest and get passed by a purple Freightshaker midroof, hellbent in the hammer lane, it's probably me. 8)
