I still check in once in awhile. Been busy working full time and going to school. My daughter got married last month and I'm going to be a grandmother in December. So yeah, real life takes up most of my time.

Besides I don't see much new here, same people having the same arguments with a few new hats in the ring. YAAAWWWNNNN!!!!!

Aw, Thanks Windy! Unfortunately unless they add another 8 hours to the day I can't figure out how not to run out of time before I go back to work the next afternoon. As a matter of fact I'm off today but just got a call that I have to go in at 7:00pm for a few hours to conduct some additional training. I am currently the lead trainer and working on my certification as a third party tester for Illinois CDL tests. I'm also the Dispatch Supervisor. Someday I'll learn to say no when they ask me to "fill in" because what I think is going to be a temporary thing ends up being permanent. And I do still fill in as a driver when needed. But I need the job until I finish school.

Being back in College is kicking my ass! I have a paper due every week and it's been so long since I had to write formal papers it takes me forever. But I am determined to finally finish my Masters in elementary and special education. My emphasis is on special ed, specifically autistic children.

My views on politics and religion are pretty well documented on this forum and those seem to be the most heated debates on here (as in real life). Whether anyone agrees or disagrees with me is irrelevant. Everyone is entitled to their own opinions. I can only hope that those opinions are based on personal research, rather than just parroting something you've heard. Think of it as trying on jeans until you find the ones that make your butt look good. And remember what worked for you 10 years ago, might not fit anymore.

I can appreciate the writing formal papers. My wife went back to school a few years back. She graduated her course with an "A" average across the board. She also did not hold down any job while doing that.

Working with autistic children, I sure hope you thrive on challenges, and GOD bless you.

Good for your wife! In a way I feel like I'm going backwards. Most of my business writing is on the technical side and uses lots of bullet points rather than long drawn out formal writing.

Of course I love challenges, life would be boring without them. But working with these kids is so rewarding.

Oh, by all means... And, you'll notice that most of them want to RELOCATE.
You'll find that some get out this year, some next year. But...
What kind of relationship do the "LIFERS" have to offer????

You know, you're painting me into a corner here. If I explain to you just what "sex" is, I won't be allowed to post on this board again.

Like Reb, I still check in once in awhile, but am extremely busy with my bakery... 14 hours per day, 6 days per week doesn't leave me alot of time for anything else!

    Miss you Wildkat!
It's boring without the wimmin around to make the dogs here wag their tails and tongues.
Mostly now we sit around and sniff and scratch stuff, and there is always a few fights.

I've thought about you and how you're doing a number of times. How's business up there? I am THOROUGHLY ENJOYING my retirement. With all the humidity around here, there are a whole lot of lawn mowers that won't start after the first season. Got it down to a science now. $20 to clean the carb, and for most of them, all I have to do is take the jet out, put it in the lathe and spin it, and open up the jet again. Less than 5 minutes, and it's running like brand new. Easiest $20 I've ever made, and I can do a hundred a day.

Of course, then, there's the ones that some shade-tree mechanic got into. Threads on the jet crossed, throttle linkage broken, governor inopperative... Or, someone changed the float valve ( for God knows what reason) and the new one is too long. Made 4 new ones in the last week, and so far, I've been able to chase down the threads when they've crossed them. Did a valve job on 2 of them last week also. And, machine shop is $40/hr. Then, they only want to spend $10 to get it fixed.

Also get mowers given to me, and when I have them running, they're up for sale. Generally go for about $50 to $60 each. So far, once I'm done with them, you don't even have to push the primer bulb. Just give the starter cord a quick pull and they fire right up.

Of course, when they bring one in, I'd like them to pick it up the next day. But most of them let it sit here for a week, then I have to figure out just where to store it until then.
