10th picture down, I was going to ask you about the "UFO"s in the middle of the pic... Then, I glanced up and looked at my own windshield. In the condition they are in, mine will never be identified either...
Fantastic pictures, Kat. The scenery up there is something I really do envy.

Thanks guys for all your kind comments...never any wonder to ME why I love the far North! You just never quite know what's around the next curve! Should have seen all the BEARS...the four legged kind, I saw this trip...blacks, browns, cinnamons (those are black & brown cross I think, something that's unique to up here, so far as I know) and even a couple of grizzlies!
Pretty soon the baby critters will be around too, saw a couple of buffalo calves, but never got close enough for pictures...
WW,,, the UFO's are just coming out now, it still freezes at night up there, so not too many yet. There's only 78 days frost free, so when they do get out, since those days there's almost no dark, they grow big, fast & hungry! I watched the sunset at midnight last night & the sky was getting light at 2 am...sure makes up for the 4 hours of daylight in winter!

Wow, the more pictures I see the more I know why people travel the north, fall in love with it and stay. Can my sweetie and I ride our bikes up there and pitch a tent in your yard for a visit?
Hey Kat, how do you listen The King Dude? Satellite?

You bet Jon...we have 6 acres, mostly bush...you could pitch a tent anywhere you like! Better be careful tho...yoou might have a four legged passenger on the way home! LOL
Satellite, yes, that's the only radio to have way up north, unless you want to listen to the loony lefties on CBC!

Years ago, I had just one ocassion when we watched a very long sunset, went in for a head-call, then went back out to watch the sunrise. That was up Greenland/Iceland way. But, to tell the truth, mostly, we were looking for icebergs. Still, it makes for some very, very long days.

So here's some more of my travels...
Unfortunately with spring come FIRE! And it was a big one! It was so smoky along the way...
The fires got so bad they finally closed the road & we all got to go up & down the Cassiar Highway for a trip...2 EXTRA days on a rounder...but the scenery!
Crossing the Dease River...yep it's a ONE lane WOODEN bridge...
And...a TEMPORARY bridge...I think the other one must have fallen into the river...yikes it's NARROW!
Mountains...at MIDNIGHT!
Nother bridge...
More mountains...it's 3 AM!
More Mountains...
The rivers haven't crested...YET!

Confusion and uncertainty is all I found.
The answers are there,

Optimistic and hopeful dreams,
Are all I have so it seems.
The future I do not know,
So all I can do is take it slow.
But I do know it will work out,
So I wait and watch without a doubt.

You should matcat, them or Lynden, those are the two main carriers up there, then there's Wal-Mart too!...just have to get used to only having ONE road...well I guess there's two, but the last pictures on the Cassiar isn't well travelled. Can you spell ISOLATION? If you can get used to the peace & quiet of travelling down a highway for hours & not seeing a single vehicle, then you got it made!

IRT is a healthy dose of BS. The pay is good because you can drive 105 hrs in 7 days.
Any numbers you hear are gross $ to the truck.
And for many in the northern parts, February/March is an awful quiet time of year employment wise, so it's a good gig.
The danger is all fabricated. Insurance policy costs the same as running down the road.
The scenery on the show however, is just a teaser, it is gorgeous up there.
I recommend turning the sound down and just watching the pictures.

Very nice "second round" of pics. I see you caught another couple of "UFOs". Love the mountains. Don't get to see much of them from here, though. Not real ones, anyhow. I envy you.

Those are some beautiful pictures. I just have one question. How do you keep your hood so clean? Do you get out and clean it before each shot?
