Have any of you had this happen
My wife was driving the other day, when this flatbed driver started passing us, then as he came up to the cab he just stopped there and kept waving at her - she would wave back. THe guy just sat there until traffic forced him to go forward.
We then heard over the CB ... hey guys there is a good looking swift driver .... several times. My wife then said he said he was going to go in a rest area to see if he can catch up with her again. Sure enough we passed that rest area and the guy pulled out and then followed us (talking on the cb the whole way ... about the good looking swift driver). We luckily had to go a different route than him.

Sounds like a freak. Did you get on the CB and ask what his deal was???
I havent been followed but one time two guys jumped out of their truck and thought theyd help me lift my hitch to hook up my truck. What they didnt know is that it has AIR ASSIST. One push of the button -up it goes.
I laughed !!

I know of one woman that got on the CB and asked for directions, in the Baltimore, DC area, and some guy came back with: " Hey, Baby, I've got something for you."
She told him to "BRING IT ON OVER", and she'd show him something he'd never seen before.
He was dumb enough to ask what that was...
"THE OTHER END OF IT". She carries a sharp knife.

Unfortunately, I think all of us women drivers have had something like that happen to us at one time or another... I try, when I can, to simply make light of it...but I back in the bad old days when I was slugging freight I used to have a sign hanging in my trailer...
"Sexual Harassment at this Work Station will NOT be Reported....
However, it WILL be GRADED!"
That used to stop the majority of it right in it's tracks!

Oh yeah, sitting in Chi traffic one day, a female Swifty from the south was in the express lane and was trying to get back (no trucks) into the other flow. Some jerk got cute with her on the cb. It went back and forth with him cracking lewd remarks and her threatening to slit his throat.
I dropped and hooked a bit up into Wis and upon leaving another driver pulled up and asked me to roll down my window. He asked if I had seen a blonde, female Swift driver and I told him I hadn't. Then he said he was following her and she slammed on the brakes and almost caused and accident. It turns out he is the jerk from Chi and was following the Swift driver. Nice guy. NOT

You guys will not believe this.
We were coming back from Phoenix, she was driving the old truck and I was driving the new truck. On i-20 heading toward Dallas this guy in a long nose pete pulls up along side her and just sits there for about 5 minutes with the string of cars behind him getting longer and longer.
I can see my wife trying her best to ignore this jerk who is waving very suggestively.
The solution that I came up with was to slow down enough to force my wife to slow down.
Then this "THING" gives me a very dirty look and shows me the bird.

Last "female" Swift driver I seen was in De soto ,KS picking up pallets for Budweiser ...She weighed about 180-200lbs...had on a tube top a miniskirt and lace gloves ,and about 10lbs of makeup ...She said to me ...you might wanna get one of the experienced drivers to spot you ,because this takes skill ,and she got it easy ,but has 6mos exp ...I almost died laughing ,but continued in and proceeded to backup after opening my doors ...I did my usual and coulld have had it with no pullup needed, but I took 1 anyways as I never try to follow in one shot ,and always take 1 pull up so I can see both sides as I get in my slot...She said " with a little practice I will get as good as her"...When she left 2 drivers told me it took her .5 hr with spotter ,and they were trying to hold straight faces as she professed her level of skill ...not to mention her rather special dress code ...lol

And this has what to do with what happened?
For the record here's a somewhat un-complementary photo of my wife (in fact when she finds out - I will probably draw my last breaths ). This is before she had most of her bad teeth pulled out.

My trainer with swift was pretty cute and was a helluva driver. I'm glad I was only refreshing my skills(already had a CDL, but hadn't driven in a few years and only had to take a refresher course for a few days) as it was very hard to be professional in a very confined space with a beautiful woman and a bed a few feet away.

Yeah, all the time, I just ignore it though, I have had them pull up beside me, I just slow down so they have to pass, they usually get the message after that, that I don't like to be stared at. If they don't flipping them the bird sometimes works. They might think I'm a *****, but I'm not out here to be looked at. Anyway there are a lot more stupid female drivers out there that like that sort of thing so I sugest they find one of those women, usually they are about 300 lbs. with big mouths
I put a hat on a lot of times, especially when I am driving through cities. I don't need everyone to know that there is a girl driving the truck, I really hate it when people in trucks, cars, buses etc. do this. When I wear a hat, nobody notices that I'm a girl. I find it much more peacful on the road when people don't know there is a girl behind the wheel.

Shawnee, I couldn't have said it any better
I don't like for anyone to know I'm a girl either. I have a low haircut (I hate combing my hair LOL) and I sit low in the seat.
Most people think I am a child behind the wheel.. People in passenger cars and other truck drivers have stopped me to ask. One of the car drivers asked me at a RED LIGHT! Guards at customers have watched me get out of the driver's seat and still asked, "Are you the driver?" I actually told one of them that I was not the driver because I figured it was obvious that I was... when she found out I had lied, she was ANGRY! WTF?! Once a shipping clerk asked me "Is school out today?" I had no idea what she was talking about. She thought I was another driver's daughter whom had come to work with him! I told her I was there to pick up a load! Clerks have also asked me if I were picking up the paper work for someone else... Why would I do that?! If I weren't the driver, I probably would not communicate with customers!
Now, on the topic at hand - several times, drivers have slowed next to me, sped up, and slowed down again when they realized I was a woman and not a child (which should be obvious since children cannot obtain CDLs)... Several have left and returned to the road when I caught up to where they were. These actions scare me a little and remind me of how vulnerable motorists actually are while traveling. So, I make sure I get their license numbers from their trailers or a truck number or company name. I want to have some information just in case... I have always been a solo driver and I have only had ONE real issue on the road (thank God), and I am not looking to have another!

there's JERKS in every line of work .... I've seen and experienced the same thing back in the 80's when I first started .... I found the best thing to do was to just give the JERK a half smile and not wave at them .... if you don't respond to them, they will leave. And if they yelled out at me on the radio, I just played like it wasn't on or not working .... all the while I was listening to the elementery way they were talking and acting. I refused to step down to their level . I wouldn't act that way in the office nor would I do it on the road .... out there it's more dangerous to get pulled into their foolish ways.
