NEED HELP OR SUGGESTIONS....

I AM A 56YEAR OLD WOMAN TRYING TO GET INTO THE BIG RIG TO PARTNER WITH MY HUSBAND. HE JUST MADE IT AND GOING THROUGH ORIENTATION. WE BOTH WERE PRE-EMPLOYED THROUGH A COMPANY AND I NEED TO STILL DO MY MANUEVERS AND ROAD TEST. MY PROBLEM IS THE SCHOOL WENT TO; ALL OF THEIR EQUIPMENT IS BROKEN AND I'M HAVING A HARD TIME GETTING MY MANUEVERS AND ROAD TEST DONE. TO GIVE YOU SOME IDEA THE TRUCK I TOOK MY TEST IN THE TRACTOR IS UNALIGNED, THE SHIFT GEAR THE SPLITTER KEEPS FALLING OUT OF PLACE, THE TRAILOR IS SIX FEET SHORTER AND IS OUT OF ALIGNEMENTOF ABOUT TWO FEET TO THE LEFT AT THE REAR OF THE TRAILOR. WHAT I WOULD LIKE TO DO IS RENT A RIDER RIG TO TAKE MY TEST IN BUT I ONLY HAVE MY CLASS A PERMIT. I NEED SOMEONE WITH A CLASS A DRIVERS LISCENSE. THE SCHOOL SAID THAT I HAVE ALL OF MY HOURS THAT I NEED AND THAT I COULD DO THIS SO I CAN MOVE ON TO THE COMPANY. SO IF THERE IS ANYONE OUT THERE THAT CAN HELP ME OR GIVE ME A SUGGESTION PLEASE GET BACK TO ME.

Look at the contract that you signed with the school. If they said that you will get your class A CDL with their equipment, then tell them that you want your money back or to get a good truck that you can use to get your CDL. Do Not let them bully you. But read your contract first. BOL

Jessie you didn't say where your located. Try putting this post in the owner operater thread, there might be one that's close to you and would need the extra money.

Next - the school you attended are they collecting money from the government to help lower the cost of attending their school? ... If so, you need to call or send an email to your Congressman and report this school. If not funded by the government, call your State board of education and report them.. ..Clearly this is a 'mill' school and they need to either be shut down or forced to repair their equipment before teaching anyone else. There's so many quality schools out there I'm sorry you weren't able to go to one of them.

Has your husband been hired on by any company yet? .... if so, talk to them about what's happened and with a little luck they may let you take the test with one of their instructors and get your licence. Just don't give up .... call, call, call everyone you can think of.

NO I DIDNT WANT TO USE YOUR RIG I WAS GOING TO RENT A RYDER BUT I NEED SOMEONE WITH THE CDL LICENSE SINCE I ONLY HAVE THE PERMIT AND TO BE IN THE TRUCK WITH ME. AND THEN I WOULD GO TO THE DMV AND ALSO TAKE MY TEST. HOPING I COULD COORDINATE WITH SOMEONE IN THE AREA AND IT WOULD ALSO NEED TO TAKE PLACE AT THE END OF THE MONTH SO I COULD SCHEDULE APPT. AT DMV IN ENOUGH TIME

Jessie I wish I lived in the area ... I'd be glad to ride with you over there in order for you to take the test. If the company your husband got hired with ... are they located close to you ? ,,, if so, ask one of the drivers there to ride alone with you. Just a thought, when there's a will ... there's always a way. :wink:

I just want to add: If this "school" is licensed by the state, they need to be reported!!! Please report the name of the school here so others will know about them. Also I will check into them and do what I can to stop this sort of thing.

In Ga., if you put "school" behind your name you fall under state Regs.

I'm glad you posted this ... because this is basicly what I PM'd to her when I first saw her post. I hope she does report this school.
