well since I have talked to several companies that do allow kids and have kids out there riding I do know that it is happening. My question is how would you know it that kid is just out for a week or living out there as you said there are kids that ride with their parents all the time. As for carnies the ones I know dont sleep in campers only the owners or managers of the carnival they sleep in the back of the trucks on the hard floors or in tents they dont make enough to sleep in motels every night.
But you can continue your discussions back and forth I am done I got some of the information I was looking for. But for now do to other things I have to put off my plans.

For the one that kept doing the little conversations
how about this one for the OTR truckers child that he sees a couple days a month if that.

    Child talking to mom
child: school is having a father/child day can dad make it
mother: no hes on the road
child: doesn't he like us, he doesn't spend much time here and when he does he is to busy for us.

This is coming from experience this is a conversation my brother had with my mom when my dad was driving. So me wanting to spend all the time I can even driving for 11 hours with my son right there, compared to to only seeing him for 14 hours a week total now it that is what you call a bad mom then I PROUDLY carry that title.

After my moms illness you might here from me again bye for now

No one called you a bad mom.

If you'd knock the chip of your shoulder, you'd understand that those speaking against it are speaking out, hoping you'll follow another course of action for both your sake and your child. In other words, people actually cared what happened to you two.

    Imagine that.

It never ceases to amaze me, the number of people that come onto a messageboard, asking questions about one topic or another. Yet, when they get an answer they don't like, they automatically go into defense mode and those nay-sayers are suddenly the bad guys.

    I just don't get it.

    *sigh*

OK, fair enough. Now go to the case worker who told you that this is OK and ask her to put it in writing and to get the managers signature on it.

sad that we have to get the states approval on how to raise our own children, and that people now think this is the normal course of life.
It's fun living in the gray areas of a black and white world!

I thought of another question. Say you get a really hot load that absolutely needs to be there and oops your kid gets strep, has a high fever and needs to go to the Dr?
There are two right answers here and those same two answers are also wrong.
First answer: Im a good mom, of course I would take him to the DR.
Second answer: I am a good employee, of course I would finish the load.

    Amazing isnt it?
Perhaps we should just start agreeing with anything someone asks.
    Example:

Driver: Ive always wanted to try sniffing glue while driving. Does that sound like a good idea?
Us: Absolutely! It will make time go by faster and it will make the lot lizards better looking!

Two recruiters trying to talk someone out of driving. Usually they say don't drive for them drive for us. I am sure any time now a Swift recruiter will be here to tell this lady "that is a wonderful idea and when the time comes we will put your child through cdl school so that you can team". With a 1 year commitment of course. That is very sound advice gentlemen. My dad is a logger and my brother and I would go with him during vacations and on weekends. Did I learn about the rewards of hard work, YES. Did I enjoy spending time with him,YES. Did that *****ho** almost get me killed,YES. Kids need to be around other kids.
Don't trust anybody. Especially that guy in the mirror.

I just think it is a selfish idea to want to drag your child around with you in a truck, there are plenty of other jobs out there and don't give the excuse that trucking is the only way to make a decent living, there are plenty of people who are not truck drivers who have raised kids, I don't think that you are thinking of your childs best interest here, I don't think you know anything about this industry or what this job involves, sounds to me like another wannabe who thinks that trucking is all fun and games,

Realistically, Scoe, that wont happen. No worker or manager will make themselves out to look like a fool. Not in the public eye, they are paid by public monies in most cases.

My point exactly!! And if it's not in writing how in the heck can she prove that she was given permission to do this on a full time basis?
