It's unfortunate but sometimes that's the only way people learn. They see what could have been, their commissions going bye bye. Drive safe everyone.

Resurrecting an old thread...because this can go both ways.

I used to sell Commercial Trucks. My manager, Patricia, was also a woman. There are slow times in the year, usually summer. So we got an idea, to take one of the trucks and coolers of ice water and drove around to construction and landscape sites, passed out free water and our business cards. You wouldn't believe how many guys came in to see if we actually sold the trucks or were just "bait" to get them in. Thing was Pat had been doing this for over 10 years and knew more about the trucks than anyone, including the people buying them. I was just learning, but the first thing I learned was if I didn't know the answer, I knew where to find it.

I can't tell you how many times one of us had to tell a customer that the truck he wanted couldn't do the job he needed it to do, or that it was overkill. And there were many times that a Commercial customer was introduced to one of us after the Salesman figured out he was in over his head when it came to specs on a CV.

Responsibility is the ability to choose your response. Victims choose to be controlled by outside forces, Responsible people maintain control by making a choice.

Lexiecat.. I wouldn't drive anything but a Volvo. I've driven Western Stars, Kenworths, Freightliners and others. It's just my personal preference.

I'm not sure where trucking industry is in relation to the feminism / liberal movement. As the society begins to understand new gender concepts, the first places to accept those changes are colleges or other research institutions. Trucking is one of the more 'conservative' areas. For example, the average age of a worker in trucking is higher than in other careers. Changes will come, but my guess is that trucking will be one of the slower areas to 'catch on', so to speak.
