What's the deal ladies???

OK, I'm just not too shure what the deal is lately but I have been having some problems with you women LOL!!! Yeah, what guy doesn't right?

My problem is that everytime I meet a new woman I explain to them my job and the fact that I'm not ALWAYS home and can sometimes be gone for a week or two at a time. I explain that it's all part of my 5 year plan and that it will be worth it in the end when all the bills are paid for and I can just sit back ao run a 9-5er like the rest of the world.....

Then about 3 months in I get dumped becasue I am "never around" or I dont get home enough and they need someone to hold them at night and such..... which is why I told them about my job in the 1st place.

I lost my fiance of 8 years because of this industry, and many a girlfriends since but yet I still love my job, my business and such.

Aren't there any good ladies left who want a honest, caring, and hard working guy?
I guess my main downfall is I am only 28 and all the women my age did not grow up with these morals instilled in them like my mother and grandmother.
The point was to find a man who you loved and treated you well and could provide for you and a family if it ever got that far.... now-a-days all these girls want you to make $200K a year but work 9-5 and be off on the weekends???

I just hope you can shed a little light on the subject plus I'm just lonely and bored and figured what the heck.

There are a lot of short-sighted people in this world...people that want everything and want it right now. There is a generation that has been taught that they don't have to wait for anything. A lot comes with age and maturity, trust me, there are men out there much older than you that are still wandering around aimlessly because everything hasn't just fallen into their lap and, instead, they have to work for it...which they have not been conditioned to do.

Some people don't think they are "special" to you unless you are there to fawn over them 24/7. This is the same problem a lot of guys have once kids come into the picture. So many people want everything to be all "me...me...me". I'm sorry it keeps happening. I don't know what to say except that there are some women out there (they might not be the ones you see as your type right now because they are are busy in general and have a full life already) that are confident. These are the ones that will cherish a trusting relationship where two people are allowed to lead their respective lives. Make sure you are not choosing a girl because she is clingy and needy (although that can make you feel...needed and like the knight in shining armour). If they are needy and dependent now...it will only get worse as people tend to get more demanding with time. You seem to have a plan. Stick with it. Lonliness sucks but there are things that are worse. I could think of a few women that are searching for someone like you right now. Don't go out looking for a girlfriend. Just be genuine, honest (like you are) and never commit within the first three months of dating! That will save you some emotional grief. You just have to repattern your thoughts. You are on the right path.

Also, although you want to find a woman with character and morals, do NOT compare them with your mother and grandmother out loud.

There are a lot of women out there with careers and self confidence. They don't need a provider or social director, but rather a soul mate. Perhaps that is the type for you.

I quit looking years ago, because there was no way I could meet the standard. In the 90's every woman I met, was looking for her Millionaire or Billionaire. Of course...that came from living in the Seattle area.

Time will tell for me.

when i would imagine it was more like you didn't want to commit and she got tired of waiting, knowing that your "grand plan" would always come first. not knocking your plan, i'm sure it's a good one, but in womanworld, it'd be nice if just once in a while, and don't mention high maintenance, we'd like to come first.

what do you do to keep the relationship alive while you're out on the road?

Actually, we were engauged and planning the wedding at the time.....
She decided that she liked someone at her work a bit more than me and left a few weeks later.
I was home everyday at the time and working locally.....

but of cousre her excuse was "Your never around" but I worked 8hrs a day and was off on weekends.
She even quit her job near the end of our relationship and I was paying all the bills just to come to find out she was text messaging this guy about 50times a day (I paid the cell bill and was not hard to figure out)

If I could afford to quit my job then trust me I would, but then where would I work? There is not a job to be had, and espically one where a guy with no college can make $100K+ a year.....

I guess I was just getting the blues as now I am OTR and gone from home 26days a month and it's taking some getting used to..... I have ran locally for the last 5 years but that ship has sailed and the contract is gone

you didn't lose the girlfriend of 8 years due to "this industry", but rather due to both you and her not being able to work out a serious problem in your relationship. that has nothing to do with what job you have, how many hours you're on the road vs. home, or how much you make. it all has to do with telling and showing the other person how much you love and cherish them.

No that was just her excuse, but it HAS done nothing but caused problems since then with EVERY woman I have dated.... I guess I should have just been married before I decided to do this?

yes that was her excuse, but we know that was a lie. someone at work paid more attention to her, listened to her, thought she was smart and funny, made her feel that she had value, and told her so.

no, i don't think you should have been married and then gone on the road. one day you'd come home to an empty house.

what everyone wants (whether they can admit it or not) is time and attention. the job limits you on physically spending time and attention on a woman, but that means you're going to have to change your behaviour to change your outcome. otherwise you're doome to the same fate over and over.

for example, i know a guy who adds a line to his cell plan, buys the girl a phone, so they can talk whenever they want. and they do talk, and she loves it.
