cybergod is an unknown poster at this point. Don't let him/her around power tools just yet.
Default Nu-Way in Livonia, MI?

Hello, I'm a CAD designer with a looong career in auto/aerospace CAD design,
transitioning into a new career as an OTR trucker. My son-in-law started in the
"lifestyle" six years ago so I already know some of what I can expect in the
industry. The "sticky" advising noobs like myself how to adapt & succeed are
still very helpful though....

My main question is: Does anyone out there have experience or knowledge
regarding Nu-Way Truck Driving School in Livonia, MI? I will most likely begin
training there in three weeks after NWLB funding is approved, so I'm wondering
if anyone else out there has anything negative OR positive to say?

Any input either way would be greatly appreciated....

Cyber

I would avoid Nu-Way at all costs!!!!!!!!!!! I attended their division in Stlouis mo on a wia grant from the government. Horrible facilities, equipment and the instructors were absolutely the worst!!! The classes were overbooked. According to their literature u get a cdl in 19 days. In the classs I attended no one passed within 30 days. There were 2 trucks for 40 students!! I quit after 5 weeks. In those 5 weeks I didnt get anymore than 8-9 hours behind the wheel. The instructors told everyone to take notes!!!

Contact the government office right away and change schools if u can. DONT ATTEND A SCHOOL JUST BECAUSE ITS THE CLOSEST TO YOU LIKE I DID!!!! YOU WILL BE SORRY. Ask to see the list of approved CDL schools. Choose either a community college or a PTDI qualified school.

You want a program that is at least 4 to 5 weeks long. Just remember after u get your CDL the company u sign on with will give u a driving test. I certainly wouldnt hire anyone from NO-way driving school!!!!!!!!!!By the way, the government paid 5000 bucks and I didnt even graduate. That school just wants government handouts.
