Default Bay Area CA

anybody around the San Francisco Bay area looking to go to school check out
Falcon Truck School
100 Corporate Place
Suite B
Vallejo, CA 94590
707-643-1700
::: Falcon Truck School ::: Home

I just graduated and passed my DMV test today, first time.
Class started on July 1st and just ended today. You do 3 days inside classroom, and then the rest of the time its driving and skills. There were 7 of us and 2 instructors and 2 tractor/trailers. One conventional and one cabover, both with sleepers. I got lucky and ended up spending time in both trucks. We also drove with 40' trailers and did our skills with them. Both driving instructors, Mike and Alex were great, learned alot from them and the two inside class instructors, Tim and Bob made things interesting, and we learned alot from them. The best part is that the backup lot is down the street from the classroom on Mere Island. The best part is that the Vallejo DMV uses the lot for the skills test for all of the other schools.
You need to have your class A permit and med card before class starts or you cant drive on the road. They give you study guides for the temp exam and all of the endorsements. I have my 3 endorsements. I probably logged around 500 miles for the month, and did the skills too many times to remember. Cost is $3500.00, and Suzanne partner/office mngr will assist you in finding a job

Congrats bro, that's actually a pretty good price for a trucking school. Do you have a job lined up yet or are you still looking, does the school have job placement?
I just graduated from a driving school in Santa Clara, CA, and yeah, i'm still looking for a job. Again congratulations and BOL

thanks, I'm still looking. Just started filling out apps last week before even getting my class A.
When you get your diploma they give you a couple of sheets with trucking companies that preveious students went to work for. They provide the company name, phone # and contact. The school also helps out if you have a questionable background. The last week we were in class 4 student from last months class came by to practice up on their skills for orientation.

LightsChromeHorsepower is on the right path. You could probably safely loan them a quarter.

I haven't heard anything bad about Watkins Shepard. But, then I also heard good things about a few others that has changed since there are now, seems like, more drivers than trucks.
Best of luck to you.
Let us know how it's going.

things didnt work out with WS. I was supposed to start orientation 8/12 but they didnt finsh my app so I pushed to 8/24. Called and again my app wasnt completed so they pushed me to 9/2. Called and the recruiter was on vacation so again my app wasnt completed. In the meantime a friend of mine hooked up with CRST and talked me into going with him. I know, you dont have to say what I already heard and know. So I'm down here in Fontano CA, just finished my one week refresher course and will start my orientation with CRST on Tuesday.
