    Default SAGE/Ivy Tech Indianapolis, IN

I went to SAGE/Ivy Tech today and talked to the program director for an hour and a half. He basically gave me the details on the program. They are a PTDI certified school, actually their program exceeds PTDI standards. They offer lifetime placement assistance even if you move away. I asked about family friendly companies and he showed me a bunch of brochures for Covenant, Werner, Swift, Schneider. I kind of chucked and let him know that those companies have been scratched off my list. We talked about some other companies like Roehl, Crete, Baylor, and some others. It made me feel a little better when he said not to trust a lot of promises recruiters make. They have a contact at a Work One office who processes the WIA grants, which I will need to get on soon. The cost is $3,995 + $260.00 for expenses.

Anyway, I am pretty impressed with SAGE. I received a mailer from another CDL school that is 12 days long with a price tag of $3,300. Sounds like a CDL mill to me! SAGE's course is 4-5 weeks long. You also get 1-on-1 drive time with your instructor. No observation time.

    The next class starts 9/3/07.
