    Default Teen driver???

For a CDL license you MUST be 21 or over. This is a Federal DOT law.

The federal DOT requirement applies to driving a CMV in INTERSTATE commerce. Most, if not all, states permit a CDL holder to operate a CMV inside of the state (INTRASTATE) at 18 years of age. The schooling, testing, licensing requirements are the same for those age 18-20 years of age as for those 21 years and older. Once a "under 21" CDL holder reaches his/her 21st birthday, the restriction is removed without further testing.
