If it werent for flatbedders, van drivers wouldnt have a dock to back into! Right?

    Default AIT anyone???????

I am considering Schneider and AIT in Vegas.
Any grads from Vegas School that can offer feedback? Spoke to a recruiter there and they wanted to interview me first to see if truck driving was for me.
Did they interview the rest of you? What was the interview like?

Sounds like a 4 month course Bornandraized.
What is the tuition for AIT?
Why did you choose to pay AIT when Schneider will train you for that 1yr contract or $3500 in their 14 day class?

The obvious is AIT appears to go at a comfortable pace to learn vs. Schneiders intense training.

    Thanks for any help..

Yeah, its a 4 month course.

    Sorry for the late reply!

The reason for me chosing AIT is that it is the #1 school here in AZ, and also a lot of carriers that dont hire students WILL hire AIT graduates!!!

Shoot, on my 2nd week of school I was getting something in the mail almost 3-4 times a week from carriers wanting to hire me!

Tuituion is a whoping $7,600.00 but MOST carriers will pay back all or most of that, so, all in all, its kinda free!

I HAVE but only 2 WEEKS LEFT!!!!! OH MY GOD!!!! I am so anxious to get out there Im about ready to crap my pants!!!

SMX Flatbed is still my company of choice!
they starting me out at .33 cents per mile, and have everything I am looking for in a company!

Im ready! I got most of my stuff.

-New Laptop with some cool wardriving accesories, and Co-pilot Truck software.

-CB Radio (old cobra classic 29)
    -Sirius sattelite radio.
    -Lunch box heater thingy
-and a floppy eared Plott hound dog. (my true co-pilot)

-all I need to get now is a new fridge (I have one but it kinda sucks)

Im gonna try to keep a log on here like so many others have, I really enjoy reading them and have learned a lot from others experiences!

Truck on People, and see ya soon!

Wow, 4 months of training for $7k

I'm sure it's good training.. it better be. I have a local technical school that's 7 1/2 weeks for $1700 here in TN. That should be plenty of training. It is also PTDI certified.

    Best of luck to you.

I checked them out and they seem to be a nice school.
little bit pricey but it should be a tax right off or some
companies will reimburse you up to $5000 of it @ $100 a month.
I'd rather write it off at the end of the year.
I should be going there late July or early Aug, sat and sunday classes
till Xmas then start driving in January some time with a trainer.
should be a cool start for the new year.

AIT appears to be a good school...and yes, kinda pricey....but they will help you get a job...

It was mentioned in this thread and other places about state grants...and if your unemployed you can get a grant...any idea where I need to look??

    Thks..

Any others? Im a candidate for the AIT program in Phoenix, AZ and am trying to get the full story. The program seems totally credible, my counsleor was awsome and she totally broke it down for me. She told me exactly how it was: "If your not willing to complete this training, this isn't the right place for you","We are going to get you a job before you start school", and "employment for life" are some key terms I heard while I was in her office.

The grounds seem pretty older, but the equip looks pretty good. Has anyone had a problem with the mosquitoes in the classroom? I saw a big can when I was there last.

Also I hear Schinder has a skid pad is this crucial to training? I may have missed it but I didn't see one at AIT. Pretty good sized range looks like it covers 100 Straight Back-up, 45-Alley Dock, 90 Alley, and Possibly double parking? Someone correct me if im wrong.

New kid ready to get to school in June just tryin' to obtain as much info first. Thanks in advance.

Do anyone have any new information on this school? I've been going to this school for awhile and the school seem to push only two companies (Werner/Swift). The mention of any other carrier you get the "deer in the head light look".
