Slip seat radio

Anyone know where you can buy a good slip seat radio or should I find a good cb shop to put one together for me?

I saw a pretty nice setup for one at Petro I think. It'd hold the cb and an fm radio in it. Can't remember the price, if I even saw the price, however.

Found this: http://www.slipseatcb.com/radio%20boxes.htm

I'm thinking of getting a hand-held. Some are suppose to have very nice range capabilities...even better than some dash units.
You can clip it to your belt, and not be limited to sitting around your radio in your truck at the loading docks waiting to get a call for a door.
Take it with you in your POV going home....etc.

I rarely listen to it while driving....but it is nice to keep one with you, when you do need it.
I haven't searched out any good models. I saw a Cobra handheld in the TS. But I would like to shop around first.

I started with this box and built my own. But looking at their prices it seems pretty reasonable to have them build it. I guess it depends on whether you already have some of the equipment, like a CB. I like this box the best for standing on the floor if you dont have a passenger seat. Some of the other ones might be cheaper if you have a seat to set it on. Its a little bit heavy and cumbersome to carry but we have assigned trucks so I leave it in there. The smaller ones you set on the seat might be easier to carry. Some guys have built their own with wood. These get real heavy! even so, I'm thinking about building a wood version of mine only bigger so I can add front speakers. I just dont want to lug it around.

So does this mean you got your feeder bid?

 Actually, at the docks...I've made the habit of saying I don't have a radio, and request they call my cell, when I have a door. I hate sitting around the radio...waiting on a call. I hate sitting in my truck at the docks too. Cripe sakes...I'm in that dang truck longer than I plan to stay in a coffin.

It never fails. My call will come in, when I wander over to the Roach Wagon, or make a potty run, or spot a female, and go in for a fresh slap. :) :?
