pocket load notebooks

Several companies furnish their drivers with pocket sized notebooks to record load informatiion (ie trlr nbr, p/u and del date time). Does anyone know where I can buy such notebooks, or who prints them? Any help would be appreciated.

Wal Mart has them. They cost less than a dollar. Check the office supply section. They are by the regular size notebooks.

If you are talking about the ones that are preprinted with lines for all the load info I have seen them at some truck stops. The only other place I have ever seen them were at company stores. Kind of pricey as far as I am concerned.

IMHO you are better off just going to Wal Mart, Kmart, Staples, Big Lots, etc and getting yourself some pocket sized spiral bound notebooks.

You mean there is actually a notebook that has specific lines for all that crap? What a waste. You're going to be writing the information anyway. It's not that much more effort to write a # sign for the trailer and p/u number.

The JJ Keller notebook is a lousy spiral notebook anyway. I prefer the "Fat Lil Notebook" from Mead. One notebook lasts me about a year.

Yup there sure is. For that $3 or so per notebook there is about 30 loads you can write down.

It is pretty handy for a newbie for a month or two until it becomes second nature as to what information is really important for a load and which is merely filler, but after that any notebook will work.

I personally liked the "steno" style notebooks. I found them a good size. Large enough to get everything about the load, including direction to the shipper and several consignees on a single page, but not so large as to be difficult to handle and glance at if needed while in-route.

I always just found those cheap little notebooks to work just fine, get a pack of 10 of em at big lots for a buck, and that will last you a good year or more.

The Driver's Load Notebook has 6 pages designated for each load. I find I can not utilize that much space.
Two pages would be plenty.

I used a Mead Five Star notebook. I copied all the information from my Qualcomm load screen onto a page. I, also, wrote any additional information as needed, ie trailer numbers, mileage, special instructions, mileage, out of route, arrivial/depart times, detention times, anything and everything that I might need at a later date.

I thought about getting a three ring binder and making pages where I just filled in the blanks. I never got around to it though. It would save a little time not having to write all the headings.
