    Default Playstation 3

Being a complete addict to the online gaming world of PS3, I definitely want to bring it along with me on the road. I know there are laptop cards for the net on the laptop, but I am curious, is there any way to get broadband hooked up to the PS3? Sattelite perhaps, or finding a way to connect it to a laptop that's connected via internet card? Any help would be great, thanks.

Yup. This is a general description of how it is done. Specific firewall programs and the actual settings inside of your PS3 can affect this, but it can be done if you get a cable and set up your firewall and PS3 settings correctly.

You connect to the internet with your AirCard or WIFi (if you are sitting somewhere with a WiFi connection.) Then you go into the Windows Network properties for that connection and enable "Internet Connection Sharing" in the advanced sharing tabs for that connection. Then you connect what is called a CAT-5 crossover cable from the Ethernet port on your laptop to the PS3. This will then send your internet connection from your laptop to your PS3.

You will need a pretty good connection to the internet to get decent gaming across it. If you have a crappy cell connection from your aircard or a weak WiFi connection then it won't be worth it at that particular location.

Thank you kindly for helping me out on this. I wasn't sure if it was possible, and I was about to start drilling holes for a satellite dish lol
