Default Buy new one or just replace parts? (coleman cooler)

In 4 years, we have gone through 3 of these. Instead of throwing it out and getting another one, and depending on the problem, is it just better to buy the replacement parts? The one we have now, you have to jiggle the cord to get the motor to run. Sometimes it won't run at all. I've seen the replacement cords at the truckstops for about $20. Has anyone replaced a cord and how hard is it? This cooler is about a year old, and that is when they usually die, and usually it's the motor, not the cord. I try and take care of the cooler best I can, I regularly open it up and clean the dirt and dust out of it. Help please!

I'm not a fan of the coleman cooler- the door isn't insulated well enough.

    I own a 40qt coleman
    a 36qt Igloo
    2 koolatrons
    a 16qt Igloo

5 coolers in 15years.-----the Igloo 36qt is the best( and first I ever bought)
they don't make the 36qt anymore--it's now the 40qt Igloo
get a good brushless motor and you'll be good for several years.

yeah, i've replace the motors in the igloo several times over the years--until they finally introduced the "brushless" type.---and since I didn't like the power cord on the Igloo--but did on the coleman---I bought that replacement
cord-the one that disconnects and you can turn it around and heat(watch out)--and put that on my Igloo.
