    Default Televison for Pete 379

I need a television for my Pete 379. I don't know what size the platform where it will sit is, but it is small. I have been searching in the internet, but I'm not having much luck. Does anyone have any suggestions? I am looking for a quality television/DVD combo.

I have T-Mobile's wireless internet service, on a two year contract. I don't think it is fast enough.

I was in a Pilot today in Wisconsin of 94 exit 322 (I think :? ) and they had a 15" TV/DVD combo on sale for $129. Can not remember the brand or if that is a "good" deal or not, but it seemed decent I guess.

I see the various, unknown, brands at the truck stops. I'm trying to find a good quality TV. I don't know one way are another if the truck stop TVs are good or not. I haven't had much opportunity to watch TV anyway.

A TV tuner for a computer does not use the internet. It hooks up to the antenna in the truck. Whatever stations a normal tv can pickup, so can the tuner.

TMC does not allow small plug in type inverters?

You can run a 13 inch tv/dvd combo on a 300 or 400 watt inverter. A 9 inch combo will run off a 300 watt.

I do not know if they still have them, but Wal Mart, Best Buy, Circuit City, etc all used to sell 12v Tv's with brand names like RCA, Toshiba, etc.
Finding the right trucking company is like finding the right person to marry. I really comes down to finding one whose BS you can put up with and who can put up wih yours.

If you can't use an inverter, that's all the more reason to buy a good, recent, laptop. Then get one of those USB TV tuners.

My laptop does just about everything I need: computer, CD/DVD player, music storage (I've been ripping a lot of my CDs lately), GPS nav system, internet, and many other things. I got one with a DVD burner so I can save things I want to keep.

Of course, you'll need the 12v adapter...

Speaking of TV tuners, this one sounds pretty cool....little spendy but if it works as it states, then might be a decent investment.

That one is awfully expensive. I've seen some for around $80 that will do all of that. Check Comp USA.

One thing to keep in mind when looking at tv tuners for a computer:

For the most part, you're not going to use the PVR functions. The only reason I bought the Hauppauge PVR tuner for my laptop is because I have XP Media Center Edition, and it's very picky about the tv tuners.

    Here's a search I used on TigerDirect:
