Out 10 yrs, want to get back!

I climbed out of my truck in 1998 when my company was bought out, spent the last 8 years in the Postal Service. I'd like to get back driving but don't know the obstacles.

I have 3 years experience, Schneider trained me, then I drove for Navajo out of Denver until I got hired driving a mobile television Production truck for two years.

Does anyone think I can avoid the pitfalls of being a brand new driver and possible get a decent job where I can get home time? (Schneider wouldn't do that!) Thanks ya'll
