    Default power steering pump?

    when the truck is warm, at idle i have no power steering unless i rev the motor. nothing is whining, binding or leaking. i checked the fluid everything is in there, the belts are tight. any suggestions?

    Change the filter. While you're at it change the fluid.

    I had a similer problem and it was the pump leaking inernally so no loss of fluid and just when ya needed it (low speed turn) nothing!

    i'm starting to think that. its making straning noises when the motor isnt raced up.

    Mine made straining noises too, until I changed the filter :P

    Could be the pump as well, but the filter is quick and easy.

    ...sounds typical of a failing p/s pump.
