Puffing and bogging after shifting?

Sometimes after shifting and getting back on the throttle the truck will bogg and let go of a big ol' puff of black smoke. Sometimes for only a brief moment and other times for about 2 seconds. Could this be an injector going bad, bad fuel, bad settings, bad driver? I have no clue, but I don't think it's the driver....

BTW, S60 12.7 DD 430hp, 2003 FL Columbia if it matters.

My 05 Century is in the shop for a week. I had a puff of smoke coming out every 6-7 seconds. Felt like an old time train puffing along.

Whats your turbo doing?

Heard that they are messing with the manifold, but what the heck.... I'm at home and they can call me when they are done.

Sounds like it may be an injector plunger sticking.

There is also a remote chance that it could be something sticking in your turbo. When you're on the throttle, it's spinning up and working. When you shift, you let off the throttle, and the turbo slows down. If something is stopping it from spinning back up, you'll have low intake pressure, and the ECM won't allow full fuel injection, until the pressure comes back up. By all means, get he injectors checked, but don't forget about he turbo. Mine was doing something like that for a couple of months, then the turbo let go completely.
