AM/FM Radio picks up static! :<

My street sweeper (International 4200, with an International radio), used to pick up certain stations pretty good, but when they had an air board installed on the back of it, it's been interfering with the frequency. Depending on what side of town I'm on, sometimes the channel will come in pretty good, but other times, it gets all staticy, and then sometimes I lose the station completely (nothing BUT static). Also, sometimes I can be parked somewhere, and the radio channel will be coming in good, but when I pull the parking brake in, it causes it to pick up a bunch of static. Then on the other hand, I can be parked somewhere and the radio is coming in good, but when I push the yellow knob in, it causes it to pick up static.

Is there some kind of item I can purchase to put on my antenna to make the channels come in crystal clear again?

Have you heard of XM or Sirius ?????????

They even have portable units for situations like this.... Who da thunk it !!!!!!!!!!!!!

I use Sirius and had the same problem until i ordered the am/fm direct connect. You can pick it up for around 20 dollarsor so.

I'm assuming I'll need an antenna booster. Which would be my best bet (for getting rid of the static), the American International #AB150 - AM/FM Antenna Booster, or the Pyramid #AT3007 - FM Signal Amplifier? (And is it hard to install?)

Sounds to me like a grounding problem. Try installing a second ground strap to the frame.

Could be a bad antenna, they do go bad over time.
