Default Vovlo 670 mirror and coax

Does anyone know what is involved in getting the mirror assembly apart on a 2007 Volvo 670? I don't want to simply start trying to pry apart. I'm not sure if there are some hidden screws or special tool needed.

The problem is the factory wired coax has got the SWR and performance of the CB severely hampered somewhere. I managed to get underneath the dash to check the coax nut there at the "splitter" (that goes from the splitter to the CB) and it's tight. So I wanted to check that perhaps something has come lose inside one of the mirrors. My FM reception is good, however the AM reception is not so good but adequate.

Anyone else have issues with the factory coax or splitter (or diplexer) causing poor CB performance and found a cure? I don't like the idea of visible coax running outside the doors and mirror. And I need at least one antenna for FM reception, and I prefer to keep the antennas "matched" and symetrical,

So, if I could verify the connections inside the mirrors and rule them out, then I was going to try and run a new coax throught the mirror pipe along side the factory coax and inside and up into the CB in the header, and use the same factory antenna and stud. But I'm afraid it may utilize a "mini" connector at the stud base?? Not sure.

I've temporarily removed one of the factory antennas, and put it on a clamp-on mirror mount, and ran a new coax inside to the radio and the SWR is nearly perfect. So I know at least the one antenna is good.

If it is like nearly every other volvo I've seen or driven, just wait a few months or a year, and the back of the mirror will fall off by itself, giving you clear access to the cables.
