    junk

    don't bother

Chlorinated parraffin. In other words, it breaks down under normal engine operating temps and can be harmful to your engine.

I agree.... not worth the money.

Look... motor oils today are pretty darn good, especially the higher end synthetics. Stick with them, do good oil analysis and pms and you will keep cost effective and get good protection.

See the discussions on the forums and the testing that has been done at www.bobistheoilguy.com

Most addtives are not worth the money and may actually cause a problem.

I own a small trucking co. and have been using motorkote in all my trucks for 6 years. Three of my n-14’s have over 1 mil. miles on them and the rods & maines were replaced at 900 thousand miles.
I had a driver climbing westbound out of Albuquerque in the summer when he lost his turbo. In all of his wisdom the driver decided to restart the engine at which time the engine started to use the oil as fuel and the engine did not stop running till all the oil was depleted. Long story short the only damage to the engine was a new turbo and charge air cooler this was two years ago the engine is fine. I swear by MotorKote!!!!
It is also cheaper to run than lucas. 30$ per every four oilchanges. I also run it in the Trans.,Diffs.,and Steering.

Having high miles on an engine is not a valid endorsement of MotorKote. I put 1.4 millions miles on a previous N-14 and NEVER had the rods or mains done in that time, never lost a turbo or had anything more than injectors replaced. I only used Kendall 15w40 oil and Baldwin filters. It still was not using any more than 1 gallon every 10K miles and getting near 7 mpg when I got out of it. It wasn't my truck, or else I would have kept it.

The oil producers have put a lot of research into the additive packages they put in their oils. I am pretty sure that the over the counter oil additives are totally unnecessary. In fact, some of these additives will conflict with the additive package in some oils and do more harm than good. Why bother? If you are wanting to spend money on something, then spend it on oil analysis kits from a reputable lab and sample your oil and see how it is doing and how your engine is holding up. You will get more bang for your buck doing that.

If you can't shift it smoothly, you shouldn't be driving it.
