    Default Single to Dual exhaust?

Any idea on the cost to convert a 2000 T600 to dual exhaust from a single stack?

I am working on this on my truck. Here is what I have and know so far

    You will need

A muffler mount to match the one you have
I got mine at a salvage yard. Very good condition $125

    A muffler $50 to $160

A stack to match the one you have $50 to $180 Depends on length & Chrome or aluminized

Possibly new brackets to mount on your muffler mount if the ones you
get on your salvage yard mount are rusted and not useable $75

Elbow below muffler $50 to $150 depends on Chrome or aluminized and
    Size

Y pipe or T pipe, flex pipe, band clamps, support brackets to tap into
    Main pipe $200 ????

The above is just a over veiw

There will be more band clamps, pipe, elbows maybe and welding.

If your truck could of been ordered with dual exhaust maybe it will be easier for you and you can get allot of the parts from your dealer and not have to design everything.

    Hope this helps

Hi Okieoo That is a good question. If you have a higher HP motor 450hp or above and you have a single exhaust and you work the truck pretty hard and the muffler you have is pretty quiet (restricted) I would say yes maybe 1/10 or 2/10mpg.

If you are mainly looking for mpg's and not changing the look of your truck I would try putting a different muffler on. I have a Walker Mega Flow muffler on my truck. It is a flow through muffler, you can stick your arm right down inside and come out the other side if your arm was 5 foot long. I thought for sure my truck was going to be very loud but it isn't much different than the stock replacement muffler. It crackles a little with the jake on at higher rpm. But nothing that would get you in trouble

The Walker Mega Flow muffler is a little pricey, I think I paid $156.00 for it a year ago. You can order them at any NAPA store. My part number is 22963 that is for a 5" in 5" out 51" over all length, 10" dia muffler. Do a google on Walker mega flow they had a pretty good site

It is a well built muffler and I think it will last longer than the stock one.

The added 1 or 2 tenths in mpg is just a opinion of a shade tree mechanic (me) Because I think that is what I got with mine, but I did do this along with a over head and a new charge air cooler all at the same time so who knows?

    Hope this helps

It has a Detroit 500 in it.
2/10 mpg would be well worth the cost to install!
