rebuilding fan drive

traced my problem with the fan staying on to the fan itself. The airvalve is opening and closeing correctly. Has anyone had any experence with rebuilding the fan clutch? I can get the kit from freightliner. Any special tools needed? Any chance it just needs torn down and lubed?

The hardest part is getting the fan clutch out of the tight space it is in. I just did the air side of mine the other day. It was easy, just normal clean up and disassemble and replace the seals and o-rings. If you are doing just the air seals you don't have to take the entire fan clutch off just the front. If you are doing bearings too it all has to come off. The kits come with good directions.

Just normal tools, a couple c-clamps and a vise.
