Default Just got the job at Flying J as a diesel tech!

    Hey fellas:

I just got a job as a diesel tech at the Flying J in Lake Station, IN, off I94, exit 15B. If you're in the area next time you need filter/oil/fluid/tire changes, drop in and show off your truck! I'd have to say Peterbilts are my favorite, but nonetheless, stop in and say hello! Right now its a part time thing, hours yet to be determined, as I couldn't afford to take that drastic of a paycut. I make $14/hour to wash trucks at my full time job, and $10/hour at Flying J! Who would think that harder work would pay less? Anyhow, I'm glad I got the job, and am so excited to work on these trucks! Wish me luck!

    Erick

I read your previous post and knew you wouldn't have any trouble finding work, Why ? because you seem to like the trucks, i.e. it's not just a job to you.
    Best of Luck.

Oh and check out a KW W900 sometime, Peterbilts older brother

    Hey Bobby:

Thanks for the reply! Ryder is my full time job, Flying J is part time. I make $14/hr at Ryder to fuel/wash trucks and stuff, and I was hoping to be able to resign from there, but I just couldn't afford the paycut, so I'm going to try doing both. Yeah, I love this work, I don't know why, but I do. People at my full time job tell me I need to slow down, that I have too much energy. Its just the way I am. I love trucks! And I work hard because I was hoping that if the bosses saw this, that they'd move me up quicker...What I hate about Ryder is all they want me to do is my job...nothing more, nothing less...I'm not allowed to do any of the other things. For instance, I was lubing a door, and the boss got all over me! Thought it'd be easier to just take care of this, rather than to pull the truck from service for such a minor thing.

Now I'm going to buy my motorcycle as a special present to myself...and a couple guns too as I'm a total gun nut.

If there are any target shooters/hunters/bikers here, hit me up!

    Later fellas. Drive safe.

    Erick

PS-Truckers, please feel free to run over those idiotic, Starbucks drinking, cell phone talking, lane hopping *******s that clog our roadways daily. You'll be doing your part to cleanse the gene pool and ensure a brighter future for the young'uns...

'spose there might be a period or a comma missing that makes this an easier read?

You guys rock!!! Thanks for all your replies.

Well, the Gary, IN Flying J called me for the same interview after seeing my application online. I figured why not go for the interview, it might pay more...upon seeing my resume, and after saying that he didn't want to insult my intelligence (very, very nice guy), he suggested I apply for the Asst. General Manager opening. I have the interview on Wednesday. I have a little retail management background, but no shop management experience. Just getting into the trucking industry here, maintenance side. Was wondering if anyone had any advice as to what types of questions I should ask, or any other suggestions for the job as a whole that might be beneficial for me to know? Feel free to reply here or call me at 630-664-4767.

    Thanks guys...

    Erick
