If it your truck take it to a shop and have it done. If it a company truck I would not touch it. Many more will tell you the same.
Give me the Sea or the Open Road
right now it belongs to the company hwever i am about to buy it. i want it turned up if i can as easy as i can first off. right now it's 68. but in the long run i would like to be able to set all the paramiters (sp) myself.
Most truck or engine dealers can turn it up for you. I don't recall whether Detroit will allow you to have the program, but I know CAT has a handheld unit you can buy for about $700. It seems to me as though it would be less expensive to just pay a dealer to turn it up for you than go to the expense of buying the programming or computer to do the job.

detroit allows some hp change under engine parameters. it can be changed by any shop with a pro-link scanner and ddec cartridge
to increase hp beyond the original limit, a programming station is required; ddc or freightliner dealer
it's not feasible to buy hardware/software unless you have a decent size fleet... imo

ok thanks for the replys folks. i will just run it by the shop and have them do it.
If you're still under warranty it's possible it can be anulled(sp)Originally Posted by ccs68ex

Don't trust anybody. Especially that guy in the mirror.
