If you were supposed to use transmission fluid to clean your injectors, then the companies that produce it would market it as such.

There are those here who swear by it. I wouldn't do it, though. It isn't designed to be run through injectors.

It's an old school trick-If you get a Flat(Not a blowout) you spray the Starting fluid around the bead and throw a match at it-It'll give you some inflation of the tire and get you to where you can can your tired fixed.

Main thing wrong with the trans fluid is some of it is RED, this WILL make it look like you are running "dyed" fuel........big NO NO!!!

Not worth the trouble........Power Service or Howes.

It works but you gotta be careful doing it-Only did it if I had to-Don't over do it with the starter fluid and if you're pulling a Tanker I wouldn't advise it :P

A quart of trans fluid to the tank will not change the color of the fuel, they use a greater concentration of dyes in off road fuels. You don't ever need to worry about this unless you are mixing 1 gallon of fuel with 1 quart of trans fluid....lol
    You worry too much M....lol

I have used transmission fluid for years. Just because it doesn't cost an arm and leg, doesn't mean that it doesn't work well. If you are concerned about it then there are a number of products on the market you can buy for many times the cost of transmission fluid. I have never had a problem with an engine or injector that I have put in transmission fluid. We didn't always have some of these fancy expensive products on the market.

That also doesn't mean it actually cleans the injectors. I've seen no proof, other than anecdotal evidence, that using transmission fluid cleans ANYTHING in the fuel system.

It's lots of fun to watch, too.

You got that right Rev. I remember once a friend of mine sprayed it in the tire, and sprayed a long line of it away from the tire. When he dropped the match, that tire must have jumped 4 feet in the air.

I used to work for a guy who would seat tires like that. That is, until the one time he lit the thing, and it didn't go out, and he was frantically looking for some water to put the thing out with. Oddly enough, the next week, there was a brand spankin new tire seater sitting in the shop.

That's only because you haven't installed those magnetic collars on your fuel lines that give you an extra 3 mpg by atomically aligning the magnetic resonance of the fuel particles.

    Dummy.

For $300, those things pay for themselves in 300 years. They're a great bargain.

Oops. My bad. I was using the big green horse pills that you drop into the fuel tanks, that are supposed to change the chemical composition of the fuel.
