Default exchanging $$$ into new kingpins

How much should I spend for new kingpins on a 2001 Volvo 770
My plan is to replace all of the tie rod ends and then take it in for kingpins.
    Dealer or private facility?
Anything else I should pay attention to in the front suspension?
    Thanks
    Bill

In my corner of georgia it runs between 700 and 850 with the kaiser kingpins and alignment.

About a 1000 bucks in Ontario. I usually like to take that kind of work to a spring shop they usually know all the shortcuts and do more of them than a dealer or a general repair guy. It's also nicer if they have an alignment machine right there to finish off the job.

You might as well get them to do the tie rod ends, as I think they have to take the bar off anyways.

Let me know how much it improves, my kingpins are definitely worn, but "within spec".

Would you just replace the loose king pin and leave the other side alone??

"Within spec" does not indicate that the end-play will not cause tire damage... just that it is safe to drive.

When a kingpin is loose enough to cause a noticable FEEL in the steering, they will likely cause undesirable tire wear... IMO.
