just a heads up to anyone in central nj looking for local work. my company is hiring exp flatbed drivers. monday-friday maybe 2 saturdays a year. 18.00hr to start 50 cents after 6 and 12 months annual raises after that if its in the companies budget.overtime 27.00+ after8 hours. avg hours a week in summer are 55-65. it gets slow in the winter. avg hours in winter 30-50 hours. start at 2am-4am done by 12pm-5pm dependant on your day. typically deliver 2-3 loads a day. some loads must be tarped. all roofing supplies, shingles felt rolls etc. heavy loads. all loads are near max weight. equipment are leased penske ryder.freightliner/prostar daycabs, 48 foot trailers. usually no slip seating. truck speeds are set at 70mph. no nyc. plenty of brooklyn bronx queens and long island tho. same customers over and over again so u know where your going. easy job. been there 5 years myself. i gross around 1100-1500 a week. centerlinedrivers.com
