I hear people saying good luck finding a solo OTR driving job with certain companies. Just curious how does USXPRESS stack up in regards to this?
Thanks for your input...

Again, I see a lot of views but no responses. Am I missing something hombres???
your asking a question that people are afraid of. if you must know the time of the solo drivers running over the road is coming to an end. that is going to be all team by the middle of 2013. so you should really be looking at local or regional driving jobs. and asking if they have a terminal near where you live. why? because you need some where to park the truck when your home and some place safe to leave your car when your out. so if you want to stay in the trucking industry. you might have to move closer to a major city or where the terminal of the company you are working for. it's just a matter of time before us express cuts out over the road solos.
been looking at u.s. express also, they certainly do a lot of internet advertising and have those fancy gadgets in their trucks... is there a difference between otr and regional anymore? seems like when i switched from otr to reg at schneider that nothing changed, if there were long runs that needed covered that's where i went but most of the time they kept me east of the mississippi
"Yours?" As in you'd pop a cap in anyone's ass who dared step foot on your turf? (Rev. Vassago)
"We have too many truckers making $35K a year and voting Republican because he thinks a Democrat is going to come confiscate his guns." (geargrinder)
Does anyone know whether or not this character had a clue about what he was saying? This is the first I have heard about the end of the road for solo driving.
Anyone else care to weigh in? I see he didn't remain on the forum long. BTW, US Express if one of my pre-hires... for solo!

I spoke with USX late last week/early this week. They offered me a solo job with them. In fact, they offered me the highest pay of every place I applied. However, when they said that their drivers are averaging 2,000-2,200 miles per week, I quickly reconsidered.
Wanna play a couple online games that are absolutely free? These are the games I play on a very regular basis:
Battle of the West & Mobs Law
Tghats the problem with the "Big Box" style companies. Ya sure they are paying 39 cents per mile or even 40, but you wont get many miles at that pay. Like stated above only 2000 to 2200 miles per week, at 65 or 62 mph, plus e-logs that tell you when to take a crap, stop and eat etc. They turned me down due to work history, I had a good laugh and I am glad I dont drive for them. Like a robot or as I like to refer to them steering wheel holders.
Keep looking is my advice, you are better of working for a smaller company in my eyes. I mean rally, what are you gonna make maybe 850.00 per week? Can you survive on that? Not much if you ask me for being out on the road.
Just an old school trucker, these kids today don't know how good they have it! Power steering, a/c, air ride cabs and trailers, air ride seats! I did not have any of these things when I started driving.
Drive an old Mack, White or GMC then tell me how good a driver you are!![]()
Don't even get me started on backing in to a dock!
