    Default Poly Trucking

Has any of you heard of these guys out of Grand Prairie Texas? Anybody worked for them or know somebody that has or does work for them? Looking for some insite as to what their deal is. I have heard they pay well but equipment is kind of so-so and not they take forever to hire someone. Thanks for the help.
Chrome might not get you home but it might get ya laid (over polishing in a parking lot). lol

With Poly Trucking........patience is a vertue.

They do have some older equipment yes....but it is very well maintained equipment. Most of the new equipment is driven by seniority drivers...of which there are plenty. Which is why it is so hard to get hired at Poly. That....and you have to meet their "criteria". The pay and bennies are above average. From everything their OTR and local drivers have ever told me..."Best job I have ever had"....is a standard statement. "I don't plan on going anywhere anytime soon......so you are SOL" is the other.

Are they not a former "private fleet: for a manufacturer that got their authority?

There is nothing "former" about them. They are still a private fleet. Only haul their product out and raw materials back. All private fleets have been required to have their authority for almost 24 years now. Even ranchers and farmers are required to have a DOT number now. Which is why THEY haul for hire when their equipment isn't busy.

Those clear plastic "generic" brand trash bags are a Poly product. One of their main back-hauls is recyclable plastics.

Just fyi, Poly makes all the bags for Hefty bags for the US and all the Walmart private label stuff is made by Poly. They seem to be a pretty cool company and they will be the first to tell you they are not a trucking company, they are a manufacturing company that just happens to own almost 400 trucks.

Still waiting to hear from them, been two weeks and nothing. My buddy that drives there says it took them 6 weeks to get hired by them and I should just chill out and wait. I thought I would at least get a courtesy call letting me know they received my app and are reviewing it.

Well 54 days later and I finally got a call back from Poly, they are interested in me and want me to fly out to Texas for an interview. I must admit they are extremely picky and go through your app with a fine tooth comb but I came out unscathed so I must be special I've been told this for years by my wife!

I don't know where it is you live in Florida....but Poly has a plant in Gonzales...just north of Pensacola....so you should be in good shape.

    Good luck on the interview.
