Default Gordon Trucking Inc questions.. anybody?

GTI apparently has a terminal here in Indianapolis near where I live. Since I don't have a CDL yet, and I would prefer to be local and/or come home every night... what do you think the chances are of Gordon:

    1. Hiring a newbie with no experience?
    2. Paying for training?
    3. Hiring a newbie and not requiring him to be out on the road for days at a time?

I just don't think that given my quirks and pet peeves that I would be well suited for being away from home for days and days on end without the comforts of my bed, my shower, etc. Every other night I could do probably... but ya know.

If not Gordon... any other places in the Indianapolis area where I might have some luck as a newbie?

Go to the big LTL players (ABF,YRC,CONWAY,Fed-EX FREIGHT, UPS) and ask for an "entry level position". Yep, you'll be the yard bitch BUT you'll have union benefits and a great pay check. You can advance from there. Running TL freight for the fleets is tantamount to being a homeless person but being in a different city every night.

GTI and other big trucking companies are not going to offer you this. If I were you I would check Werner or JB Hunt or Schneider, but get it in writing via your email or they will never do it for you!
    Have a safe driving day!

Get a gig run'n trailers back and forth, terminal to terminal, Werner, JB Hunt. easy money. Home every nite or at worst every other nite. Or find out who is hauling the mail at your local post office. Just a suggestion
    up the hill,
    down the hill,
    up the hill,
    down the hill
